Hey guys this is my car just got
My 2019 m850i x drive is like to
Call it a beautiful monster !!!!
It’s my baby I’m absolutely in love with it
It has 29K miles it’s under cpo warranty.

I also listed a pic of it !!!!

I’ve been doing some research
On stage 1 tune at carbahn in
San Jose ca I live 30 miles from them
It is Steve Dinans shop and there
Stage 1 tune is claiming 707 Horse power
And 711 pounds of torque sounds
Amazing 😎

Theses are my ?
Is the numbers correct has any 1 done this
Tune to there bmw M850i ???
Also after Tune what rpm’s
Will the vehicle launch from ?
Also is it at least a second faster
In the quarter miles


Note I only plan on putting about
10K miles max in the next 6 years
And only taking it to the track twice
A year and gonna be a weekend Garage car

Also if you no any other tune company’s
That would be good to no as well
I trust Steve dinan but I’m open
To hearing options

Looking forward on hearing your
Guys opinion also please any help
Will help me trying to get as much
Info as possible on tunes thanks

Aren’t you already booked in?

You can’t get carbhan stage 1 controller without upgrading the intercooler, which is pricey.

Your HP at the wheel may be 530 at best. My guess.

See my thread, ‘track time ramblings’ for results on the M8.

It’s definitely safe.

2 different cars.

M850 doesn't same engine setup as M8. Limited room to push compared to M8 engine.

Yes, I’m aware Ben. I’ve owned both and why I guessed 530 for his M850 with the intercoolers and carbahn stage 1.

If everyone reads between the lines in my threads, and I didn’t come out and say it, but the message was just get the Racechip GTS Black which seems pretty safe to me. If you want safer, go with carbahn, and while you’re at it pay more for the warranty, but don’t expect big gains.

Yea, gain on M850 is about 10%. Paying Carbahn's price is just paying for insurance that you will not need.

Fully agree. I obviously don’t treat my car like a piece of porcelain, and I drive it like it was meant to be driven, but I don’t drive the shit out of it either.

I don’t see the need for ultra ultra safe with extra $s for warranty. I haven’t even turned RC GTS to map 7 yet, in fact there’s no chip in it at all right now. Lol. The 620 I’m getting is fast enough and my track times compared to everyone else’s ‘sports car-race car’ are better.

For street guys, I’d add Racechip GTS Black and do something with the exhaust. The muted sound of the M8, given noise and emissions laws, is truly ‘pathetic’, for the coupe at least. Maybe more acceptable for the GC market, with the exception of our performance minded GC owners on the forum.

For the price of the carbhan stage 2, which means intercoolers and low temp rads, you’ve got yourself a full catback exhaust.

I found nothing muted about the stock exhaust on either of my M8 GC Comps--this second one is perhaps a tad louder. They certainly open up over time, too. I'd go as far to say I get at least a few compliments a month at traffic lights or the like that almost always includes the exhaust note or overrun pops & bangs, etc. I've never once considered touching that aspect of the stock car.

I don't think my Eventuri Intake nor the RaceChip is augmenting the stock sound but I'm a mechanical novice so take that with a pinch of salt.

First set is flywheel numbers and second set is wheel numbers for M850. Depends which set of numbers you’re talking. Maybe I got it wrong but I thought you must have the intercoolers with the stage 1 controller? I’m likely mistaking.

No modification at all.

I was just planning on putting
Stage 1 tune witch i heared doesn’t
Require different intercooler on this
Model u can tune it stage 1 and keep
The stock 1s

I’d compare their cost to Racechip GTS. I’d get the Racechip before carbhan stage 1 controller. We don’t have anyone on here that’s gotten their car into trouble using the Racechip and it was better than carbhan stage 2 in my experience with the M8.

Are you getting a controller or an actual tune to your DME?

If the later, given your model year, I have nothing to compare to since my 2022 model year DME is locked. The controller I have from carbhan is just a piggyback and a weak one at that. Notice it says removes top speed limiter in the web post so I’m assuming it’s the later.

Anything you add can potentially void your warranty. Carbhan gives you a warranty at additional cost but I’d like to see a claim tested.

The easiest to tune from what I been
Reading and this is a complete
Ecu tune taking out my
Ecu and reprogramming the whole
Car computers
So it’s different and a lot better then
Race chips and piggy backs from
What I heared it will affect my warranty
But I don’t care I want it need the speed

Carbahn stage 1 seems like a reasonable tune for those that want a conservative tune. There's no controller, this is a tune they setup to the ecu.

Yes they do, it looks to be a Racechip with a new label but they still offer one for the locked BMW's. Are you trolling??

No, but this is in ref to pre lci 2019 m850. It's a flash tune.
