2019 vs 2022 M850i convertible

Any meaningful differences between the model years to be aware of? Looking at two used vehicles that are comparably equipped and having a tough time justifying the premium in cost for the 2022 other than an additional couple of years worth of factory warranty.

So Covid took away many options for many in 22.... You will want to check for B&W sound system, Neck warmer, Carpet lights, wireless charging, full leather interior, wind deflector, and carbon fiber bits. If any of those interest you... if not get the one that fits your budget best.

Mine is a 2022 M8 and I waited just about one year from order bc I wouldn't budge on options I selected due to Covid... lol I have a very well equipped 22 and there are not many out there.

Yep and add memory seats as although I don't think it hit the 8-series (BMW saved the chips for the higher end models). Also, for the OP depending on your locale you may want to verify that the 2019 has the comfort seating package (standard in 2020+) as without it there won't be any heated seats, steering wheel, etc.

Thanks guys, the vehicle I am looked at is nearly fully equipped. So not so much the options and packages I am concerned with, more what’s changed in terms of tech and powertrain between the model years.

From what I’ve been able to research, seems like the major differences are the 2019 has a smaller infotainment screen, the wifi hotspot is removed from the newer models, there seem to be some changes to the engine as the 2019 gets slightly better MPG, and I’ve also read that the Sport mode bellowing exhaust noise that’s present in the 2019 has been software nerfed in the newer models. Does that sound right?

2023 Have the larger screen its almost a inch larger, mid 2020 software update nerfed all vehicles that upgraded to the new software. If we talking M8 it went from 600 to 617hp.... Other models are all the same and nothing really has changed much other than that.

Yep, the iD7 screen in a 2019 vs a 2022 are identical. Engine wise identical as well (same for 2023+). The absolute hot exhaust on a 2019 M850i is long gone if the owner upgraded iD7 in 2020 or later. So basically at this point likely zero difference between the OP's two choices outside of the 2022 will have the original warranty and the 2019 likely long passed that unless originally in-service in late 2019 or early 2020 and under 50K miles.

One other difference is that on the 2019 the digital key only supports Samsung phones.
