2017 911 Turbo or 2017 R8 V10+ or 991.2 GT3 or AMG GTR

I wanted to see which one would you choose.

I Love the turbo but its sounds like a vacuum cleaner

I love the r8 but the looks are subjective sometimes i like it and sometimes I don't

GT3 Has no faults at all.

AMG GTR is also stunning but it doesnt rev high enough like the GT3 or R8 Which is something the turbo also lacks.

Tell me what you will choose and why.

End of the day I would buy the AMG just for the uniqueness factor

With all of those cars the level of performance is going to be far beyond what I am capable of harnessing. I am the weakest link.

Toss up between 991.2 GT3 and AMG GT-R. Personally I would probably choose the GT3, simply because manual transmission will be available. Although the AMG GT-R is incredible and surely will increase in value due to limited numbers. Tough decision. I would forget about the Turbo and R8.

I would choose any of the other cars except the AMG.

Never had anything good to say about any of my ownerships with AMG. Reliability nightmare.

I can't comment on that at all, but for me the weight (or lack thereof) and performance of the mac really appeal to me. If I were able to afford something along these lines it would be hell deciding between the two. Good luck!

Since you asked which one I would choose, it's a bit subjective...

911.2 GT3 - I am #1 on my dealer's list and have a deposit down to get it at MSRP (which means bupkis since I am not a VIP). This car is pretty much the pinnacle for me... always wanted one, if I drive by any of the other cars you mentioned I would not second guess my purchase. IMO, the classic but aggressive design, the daily drivability (yes I plan to DD it), the NA motor (hopefully 4.0), the noise it makes, the slightly more premium brand compared to Audi/MB, and the configurability just makes this car awesome. I also like the slightly understated looks of a 911 compared to the r8/GT-R, especially if you get it in a black/white/silver/grey. Oh, if you plan to sell in a few years the GT3 will also retain its value the best (MB might be a close 2nd).

I plan on building mine with GT Silver, PCCBs, buckets, and maybe front lift.

Not "maybe" a front lift. It's a must, not an option. I have a GT3 (although I'm trading it for a Huracan tomorrow) and I would never buy one without.

And you will absolutely love the car! It's so much fun, and so easy to drive. It feels like part of you when you push it hard.

Get the extended range fuel tank, and I'd also get the smokers package. It gives you an extra 12V outlet and a door that closes over the little compartment instead of leaving it open. Carbon fiber interior is really nice. Seems to be higher quality than the 997 carbon fiber bits.

I'd also not get black painted wheels, that's what mine originally had and the finish chipped and scratched easily. I had to get mine powder coated because I didn't like how they looked.

If you're going to track it I've heard it's best not to get carbon ceramic brakes, because they are so incredibly expensive to replace. And personally I wouldn't do buckets, they're not very adjustable and I've heard not very comfortable. I guess it depends on how you will use the car.

Nice, never thought of the smokers package. Agree with the wheels, too. I will DD it with maybe 1 or 2 track days a year and more country road driving so PCCBs are something I want.

What's the appeal of the extended fuel tank aside from the obvious longer times between fill ups? My dealer actually pushed me away from it saying the tank alone in ~8lbs more plus I will be hauling nearly 60lbs more of fuel after each fill up.

Lol I think you'll find the extended range to be a plus if you're doing country road driving more than track driving. If you don't want 60lbs extra fuel you'd just not fill it up to max capacity, then the penalty would only be 8lbs. 8lbs is negligible.

PCCBs will cut down on unsprung weight which is good, but it'll be about $20k to replace if you mess them up!

this is solid advice. i don't think i have ever seen a gt3 with carbon brakes at the track.

Also get leather everything in the interior, with contrast stitching. It's so worth it, looks ten times better than the bare bones interior.

Yep, heard that one too. That's how Porsche bleeds money out of your wallet. Initially, I was like "well, keep it pretty bare bones, I don't need all that fancy stuff and PCCBs". Now I keep saying, "Well, I'm gonna live with it for awhile I might as well make it how I want it so lets add the front lift because everyone says I need it, PCCBs cause those are cool, bucket seats because it's a GT3, and leather interior because I'm buying a $150k car". Before I know it, I've added a Camaro to my GT3.

Without a doubt, I'd go with the 570S.

Totally unique and it's a stellar drivers car.

I've spoken to the McLaren dealership near me and they have a client that drives his 12C everyday and has over 40K on it with no issues at all.

Unfortunately that's how it is with all these cars, the base MSRP is a joke because nobody in their right mind would buy a car like that. My Huracan has 40k in options and most of those are things you'd really want. At least my X5M was reasonable when it came to options!

You're really going to love the GT3. It's as close to perfect as you can make a car. I'm only trading mine to try something new while I try to get on a list for a GT2.
