Are you leasing or does resale value need to be considered?

F type R or AMG GT hands down for me.

I know you said you arent sold on the looks but god damn I was at the dealership over the weekend and the thing is amazing in person. I was looking at a all black one with the 2 tone black and red interior.. probably the best looking and feeling interior I've ever been in... it was amazing.

You can already get a F type R for around 75K which is a great price for that car. Not the best interior or driving position but its definitely the most bad ass car on your list

Personally though if it was me spending 120K id look for a 09+ Gallardo or R8V10 with some mileage

For myself, it's 991.1 tt or 991.1 GTS. 991.2 doesn't interest me. Now, I just have to find a MT.

One of my partners purchased an AMG GTS recently. I'm not sold on the look either. It's elegant, but there are other vehicles I'd purchase at that price range.

Aston Martin makes beautiful cars, but they're a little understated for my taste.

The F type R is the most "pedestrian" of the bunch in the sense that it doesn't look like an exotic, but that can be a draw for some people who prefer to stay under the radar. Getting constant looks on the street can be exhausting and perhaps unnerving after a while.

I'm likely bias, and late to the party, but my vote is for a new F-Type R (crazy discounts can be had and leading class warranty). She is a beauty and sounds ridiculous. She's definitely more GT than track capable, but fun as hell nonetheless. As for attention-getting, I'd rather remain under the radar most times, but this Jag garners more attention than anything I have driven previously.

All those stating to buy either a Gallardo or R8 with the V10: You're not comparing apples to apples with the choices he has listed above.
Yes, these two cars sound great and drive great, but they do have a Lambo V10, so that will cost him $1 - $2 per mile driven for maintenance. None of the cars he has listed above will cost that much to run. I'm not sure he'd want the headache of this type of ownership coming from a Merc.

I believe the V8 R8 will be "cheaper" to run than the V10, but they aren't very quick. They do look nice though.

You can't go wrong with a GT3. If you look hard enough, you can find some in your price range:

For driver involvement, this manual GT3 would be my choice. The NA flat-6 sounds utterly fantastic too.

A little over your budget, but with only 10K miles and a manual, this thing will retain its value pretty well.

My vote also goes to the R8. Not many cars look as good as the R8 IMO

Not really.. I guarantee both the R8 and the Lambo are cheaper to maintain then the Aston on his list. Probably the same as a the Porsche and Merc. Not to mention the Jag.. which actually gets my vote out of that list.

Those Audi V10s are pretty solid and the clutches are 10x better then the previous gen Gallardos. From what I understand is that most parts between the 2nd gen Gallardos and V10 R8s can be cross shopped, so you can take your Gallardo to any Audi dealer for most maintenance.

Its not like anyones telling him to go get a 04 Murcielago for 120k, running cost for that would maybe be 1$-2$ per mile

TY! I was thinking it was closer to the old Gallardo.

I checked out R8 talk and the newest R8 V10 isn't that much at all.
Here's a response from one of the members that just purchased a 2015 R8:
dpe, when I purchased my 2015 R8 V10, the business manager broke down the scheduled maintenance cost as follows:
5000 mile = FREE
15,000 mile or year 2 = $603.31
25,000 mile or year 3 = $425.94
35,000 mile or year 4 = $961.30
45,000 mile or year 5 = $425.94
Total is $2,416.49
That should give you a rough idea as to what it cost to maintain one of these.

I'm going to change my vote to the R8. Apparently the older R8's have a pretty low maintenance schedule as well. If you're going to get something that costs this much, make sure it stands out as something totally different.
Your original choices:
- 991 Turbo - Epic performance for sure, parked next to a true exotic it becomes invisible. Not different enough compared to others you can get.
- Aston Martin DBS - Yes, maintenance cost of these is an arm and a leg. Looks fantastic and sounds even better, but may not do it in the end.
- Jaguar F-Type R - Great car for sure, just too similar to the V6 model and ends up being similar as the 911 for not being different enough.
- AMG GTS - I saw one in real life. I liked it! Definitely worth while looking at. Super interior IMHO.

That sounds about right. Id say the F Type R is the best value for money on this list. Already under 80k used and still under warrenty. I loved the AMG GT interior as well.

To me there just isnt anything in this price range that can compare to the presence of a V10 R8 or the Gallardo. I shouldn't be over here recommending those cars to people though.. hopefully ill be shopping for one of those 2 myself soon

Having owned a 991 and a f type, the f type is much much more engaging and a real joy to drive. The 991 was more like a Camry at legal speeds, really not very fun until 100 plus. 991 blends in, f type people love that car. I never really miss the 991, the jag I find excuses to drive all the time.

Austin, no idea.

Biased, but there are only two V12 with Manual Manufacturers: Aston and Ferrari.

A V12 Vantage 6 Speed is $100K in Carbon Black with Carbon fiber everywhere, Alcantara and leather everywhere, and Ceramic Brakes. It is nowhere as fast as a 997 TTS or 991 TT. It is old school, but man, one of a kind driving experience.
