Porsche

it's not a fair fight, the Porshe was always going to win it.

Thank god this isn't one of those 30 minute Russian videos that keep making it to the front page and just a simple 1 minute drag race video

While its a given the Taycan would win, I would still say the M8 had an impressive launch.

Forget the roughly $40,000 difference to bring them to equivalent specs, add one aftermarket $900 tweak and the Taycan lost in the 1/8th and the 1/4 and anything thereafter. However, even tuned, it's hard to launch as fast as the Taycan does--the 60-130 is difficult, too, unless the M8 is prep'd.

PS: that's Porsche.

This.

There’s just something “non-connecting” about an electric car. It’s like replacing a Rolex with an Apple Watch.

The 0-60 times get boring real quick without that mechanical connection to your car, only petrol heads will understand, I think.

That said, the Taycan does look good, and I get that electric is the way of the future. I hate the future, lol

The 0-60 times have not bored me even once. To each their own.

Agreed in every other respect.

Agree for my driving needs (a bit more spirited than just drag) but I am impressed with the Taycan (sound withstanding) against the 992- the rollers were meaningful to me and the car looks brilliant. And you know that Im a Turbo S Fanboy owner of many/lover/aficionado.

Damn that’s a nice pair

I’d take the 911 too but the Taycan is a cool car. Makes me look forward to next gen. EV’s

I just realized a purpose for the fake engine sound pumped in to cars - use it to pump ICE noise into the EVs. Eg GT3 noise for Taycan Turbo S.

Very tempting aren't they. I went into the local configurator to build a Taycan.....I was there for 3 hours....the options are mind blowing and by the time it got it to something approximating the 8 spec it was out there. The petrol version is close to $500K here.

Welcome to the Porsche nickle and dime world of options which makes BMW look like a simple participant although depending on the model even Comfort Access is an option vs standard for other luxury manufactures. I've spend more time than I can count on building 911s optioned up to my specs even though I can't fit in one. Mostly that was done to cement the fact that the base MSRP is $20 to $40K below a true spec.
