Same as you my friend. I love the F90 and think an M8 GC is a great buy once it runs through its depreciation course.

Let's see the Sport Auto track time, not the manufacturer one.
Also there is an important tyre difference too. Auto Bild tracked M8 GC with 4s tyres faster than GT 63 S with the same tyres, but slower than the Merc equipped with Cup 2s.. We'll see what the CS models will bring |

I heard the Cup 2s are really track focused and not good on regular roads in the wet. So if I get the CS I may have to get MP4SSs for DD use. |

+1 Exactly! I looked at the video where driver Mr. Pilgrim had only PSS on the M4 CS and he said it would have been 2 seconds faster if he has the cup 2's on which is how the BMW engineers had designed the vehicle for the specific tires. Anyone?

Wasn't familiar so looked it up. If the M4 CS could get ~2 seconds back with SC2s on that 3-mile track, I imagine the M8 would definitely get a healthy chunk back on the 12-mile 'Ring. |

The mag ran 992 C2S at 7:30 when Porsche pro driver did the run was 7:25. As Vic55 said with only 445hp. That's flying on a car that has 172 Hp less than M8 Comp.

You can overcome weight with traction and power but then there are plain physics on a track. I still don’t see that dinging the M8 other than their marketing dept came up with these BS comparisons. This car was not designed to compete with the 911 but the S-Class coupe and other Big GT bruisers. I think the BMW performs exceptionally well for its weight and size. |

I never would cross shop a M8 and 911 they're nothing alike. Some have recently compared them on this board and I always contended they're not competitors and feel completely different, although some have cross shopped them. I didn't cross shop them

0.79th of a second slower than a GT3? Now that's progress.

Fine. The virus is in the past and the Nürburgring is again open for new records. This year should be a lot of interesting things: New Porsche GT3, New Audi RS6 Avant, New Mercedes AMG GTR Black Series.

For those of you that say it is too expensive, it is too heavy.... look at the cars it is faster than or virtually ties. And look at how much they cost....
I own one and have never been happier with a car. |
