Good stuff and makes sense with all things considered, and the 21's being produced next month....

I wish I was buying now instead of last year. I was exactly one year too early.

Don't beat yourself up as 1) you've had a year of driving pleasure 2) the ordering of 21's are just around the corner. 3) next year you could say the same thing.

That's roughly in line with M6 prices, how about that?

This is a 5,000 mile, 36 month lease (15,000 miles total across 3 years) hence the price. Still, for someone with low annual mileage requirements, it's quite attractive.

lol good catch. *SMH* wonder how that spikes when you actually need real mileage.

My lease is 36mo/10k per year and I believe it's 0.20 per mile over

I've been in communication with the dealership and have a written quote for 29K off of a 156K car including 3K for loyalty. Assuming that the transaction can be closed, it's a very good deal for a cash buyer. With so many of these cars on the ground, this is what dealers are going to have to do if they want to move inventory.

So we'd need 5K extra per year to bring it to 10K miles x 3 for the lease term = 15K x 0.30c (M8s are 30c per additional mile) for the price per mile = $4,500 divided by 36 = $125 additional per payment.

That's still a great deal.

This dealership is offering ~$37K off of the MSRP excluding loyalty... or are you referring to a different car at this same dealership?

Manufacturer floorplan support isn't going to last forever. There are forum members still purchasing 2019 M850i's as the 2020 model year approaches end of production. Price point makes the M8 a more difficult car to sell with a more limited audience. I fully expect we'll see similar or better percentage discounts as the year progresses. Given supply and demand, the dealer willing to meet me on price is going to earn my business. (Nobody seems to be talking about the 840i. Watching dealers sell through existing inventory is going to be interesting.)

The M8 is arguably a lot more car for a relatively small upcharge over a well equipped M850i.

That was the deal I had last December. You can do much better... I would shot for the convertible discount on the coupe.
At the time, the car was just launched 2 months earlier; now you are nearing the end of the model year...

Btw, cash will get you nothing extra. Financing will bring some additional money to the dealership although that gets lower as well with lowered interest rates.

^^^^^^^^^^ this

A year ago that was a good deal. I'd shoot for more off. Neither are selling

if that's how it works out perfectly then you are correct! i would love an M8GC over the M5 for that just becuase its so different but damn that price difference...for what? Still find the X5M to have a much better interior than both...imho

Have the same lease terms on my 2020 M850i and believe the .20 per mile overage is correct but have to dig up the paperwork. Honestly never paid attention as there is no way even under normal circumstances would I exceed 30K in 3 years. Now with COVID-19 in play and the car in the garage for close to 5 months I have some extra mileage to play with on some road trips.

1380 inc 8% taxes 10k/yr/36 months. 1st payment $3500 for M8 Conv list at $159k, approx $35k off.
Seems ok but should be able to do much better? Only first dealer I spoke to and obv Comp wud be better...
$1200/mo for M8 Conf Comp likely possible as we get into summer

A strong lease on a '20 after discounts would be 1% of the purchase price with 10k per year and sign/drive before taxes (a true 1% lease).
