Great video, great car, but not for $175 Grand! I only say that because it's a fact that the M8 will depreciate 40% in 3 years time.

More like 60%
Even the American corvette Nissan GT-R and 911 depreciate less the m8 m5 m2 or any M

40% in 3 years would be wishful thinking But then nobody buys/leases these cars for MSRP either.

Ours was $158k but got it in late December for $132k. A fully decked out M8c coupe won't go for much more than that now...

Mine is an 2019 M850i, not m8, but it still sells for roughly 50% of what I paid for mine in less than two years (less than 1 year of my ownership).

So it's definitely going to lose at least 70% of its value in 3 years on the road (by July 2022).

This basically completes with a Bentley & an S Class Coupe. For a whole lot less and with better performance. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

I cannot believe we're already looking at the next generation M5. It really doesn't feel like the current generation has been out that long.

Lease. What depreciation.

GCs were and still are tougher to negotiate deep discounts on but I managed to make myself very, very happy with the ratio of smiles to $$$s. This is by far the best car I've ever owned... leased.

I love it. I've had it for 2 1/2 months and even with the pandemic, I've put 7,500 miles on it. The majority from driving for driving's sake.

I can't go anywhere without making someone point and smile... makes me smile right back. From 6+ft away...

Here's my view every morning and it's not one I plan to give up any time soon:

This...
These cars are there to be enjoyed. Biggest issue we have had with not driving the car enough was snow and bad weather, not COVID...

My E92 M3 depreciated less than 50% in 10 years, so that's a generalization. The M2/M3 and most likely M4 will hold value.

The M3 has always been the M brands best car for residual value, but I'm pretty sure the e92 has depreciated a lot more than 50% by now. Being the last naturally aspirated M car helps though.

Sticker price was 71, sold for 37. But I was the original owner with all records and under 30k miles.

Depends on the situation.
