Love my e90, but it's time to grow up.
Found a new vehicle I am interested in. I'm no enthusiast like the rest of the self proclaimed ones here, and I have no interest in trying to make my vehicle look like it's NOT a BMW. I took the wife and spoke to the Audi dealer at length about the A6 quattro. We're enamored with this thing. It's a step up from a 3er and feels much nicer than a 5er. Gadgetry, bells, and whistles are quite impressive. Navi is Google Earth based as well.. The headlights are so damn sexy too! Don't worry I'm not going anywhere, whenever I get my next vehicle the 3er will become the 'other' car.

This car is an home-run where the 5er is mixed bag of feelings....
At least, wheen Audi put a 4-cyl., they LOWERED the price instead of jacking it up by 2K$ like BMW is doing with the 2012 528i 4-cyl. Ok, all the 5-series... |

No offense, but if BMW is your "other" car then this isn't really the place for you anyway. This board is for BMW enthusiasts, and you sound like your love is for your new Audi, hence I recommend finding the nearest Audi forum and staying there. Oh, by the way, nice car!

seen a lot of Audi cars broken down on the side of the road lately - mostly S4. In fact, I know a guy who had an RS4 on lease, after the latest breakdown he kleftthe car on the higway, took his wife's car to the dealer, dropped the keys on the GM's desk and told him to "pick the piece of s@#t up and send him the bill" for the early lease termination.
That said, they do make beuatiful looking cars. I would love to get a hold of an A6 diesel - if they ever bring it to North America. |

Ignore the haters, that's an amazing car. If I have one criticism of the new Audi's its that except for the sweet headlights and taillights the whole car is pretty bland.
I.E., from this angle it looks amazing: But from the side it looks like an A4 that was photocopied at 110%: If they spice up the styling between the front and back then it would make a huge improvement IMO.

Nice car! Did not realize the new A6 had just come out. When I grow up, have kids, and then retire, I will look into getting myself one of these.

Guys guys.... I don't have it yet. But I've made up my mind. I was thinking of waiting for the 4 series Gran Coupe but that's just too far off and IMHO it's not necessarily as big a step up as the Audi. Besides. I already have a fun car, I'm past that and want something that looks good and is more lux.

Make sure you buy it new so you can brag on Audi forums that you have a NEW car and it's not CPO and used like everyone else's. I'm sure they won't hate you there too.

haha same here, time to grow up. 335 staying with me for the rest of its life/existence on earth. But the next car isn't German, it's not Italian, it's American, direct injected, weighs 2 tons, has over 100 cu. ft. of cargo space. Test drove it yesterday as they were putting them away due to Irene. The first one couldn't start (I told the salesman don't worry about it, I drive a 335i and that's something we're used to). When we were finally on the road in a 2nd one, I felt man, this thing isn't necessarily "fun" to drive, but it feels like it's something you get when you grow up!

A6 doesn't look that impressive in person IMO. It has a lot of jetta from the side and rear views. But so does the A4. I guess buying a car for it's bells and whistles and headlights is "growing up" ...

To each their own. I like it. My 3er is a great little car, and I plan on keeping it for a long time, I'm aware that what I want is a compromise in performance, a little this for that. Everyone has different opinions of what is for them.
As far a bragging? As long as the E90 has been out, so what if I like the fact that I bought it new? It's a 3er at the end of it's lifecycle, WGAF? |
