Aftermarket exhaust for M850i?
How you think about an aftermarket exhaust for M850i. Does it worth it? There're people saying you just have to have a tune and an exhaust. You can have more power than M8. It's interesting. How you guys think

There are several aftermarket solutions for the M850i's exhaust and tuning. If I end up buying out the lease on my 2020 M850i I'll definitely be doing both.

The exhaust will give you the sound bloozemanAZ is always looking for because he got the coupe over the convertible. The tune will give you the power. It's like overclocking a cpu or gpu on a pc. They say exhaust gives you some power, but it's mostly bs. A tune is the only way to get the maximum power. However a tune will usually only give max boost if you use 93, 95 or race fuel and not 87, 89, or 91 fuel. Also a custom ECU tune will take into account any mods like a cold air intake or different engine mods to give maximum power. |

How would you say it sounds when you hear it live? Given exhaust sound is not a priority for me, it's still interesting to know how the feedback is from those who have it or have heard it on friends' cars. FI Exhaust is another valid alternative (for the M850i) to the unavailable Akrapovic. Also while most tuning efforts (not just in the exhaust section) may focus on the M8, it's great to hear there are some very decent options for the 840s and 850s as well.

Curious as how the exhaust sounds on your friends M850i. A video of it in action would be greatly appreciated if you could shoot one while she cold starts and then revs the engine. No need for a drive by but if possible that would be icing on the cake. |

The cold start video is the car in Comfort Mode, but when revved you can still hear how intense it is! https://vimeo.com/user127847077/revi...806/a7761ba8f4 https://vimeo.com/user127847077/review/483283758/b241ee6f88 https://vimeo.com/user127847077/revi...715/cb93520ca4 https://vimeo.com/user127847077/revi...658/359528649b https://vimeo.com/user127847077/revi...652/5c72539b49 https://vimeo.com/user127847077/revi...555/d83b716355 M |
