CF Led Steering Wheel
Anyone heard or purchased from Carismo Design? If you have purchased a wheel before, were you able to retain all functions? Heating, Cruise Control etc. Looking into purchasing one but don’t want to lose any functions.
Second question- how’s build quality? Thanks in advance guys. |

So…I went ahead and pulled the trigger.
Placed my order and will be getting this cf combo for the new wheel. The photos are not the same exact wheels of our m8s but just a reference point of the build of the areas I am customizing. Heating filament will be added Active Control module will be added (prototype module) So no functions will be lost. Photo 1 is of the face trim I am customizing Photo 2 is the wheel section I am customizing Didn’t want to do full carbon because it needs to hold some silver to stay balanced with the rest of the car. Ben from RG Sport will do the install. Carismo Design is putting together this build. 8-9 week turnaround. So let’s see how it goes.🤞 |

I figure I update this thread.
Carismo did a fantastic job. The specs of the wheel came out exactly as I wanted it to from an aesthetic point of view. I will be receiving this hopefully by the end of next week and will then test the functionality of everything and give you guys a thorough review. Just from the image alone of the final product, I am deeply satisfied and can't wait for r33_RGSport to install it, along with my CF Gloss Mad Trace Shifters. |

I didn’t because the led display with this steering wheel shape had the iconic “China factory “ font and I can’t stand to have that be part of the car. The font would aesthetically bother me for days.
Secondly- after consulting with several people and even r33_RGSport , we’ve agreed that it’s a bit tacky to do the led display even though it is kinda cool. |

Personally that LED display right in my eyes blinking and flashing would annoy me.
I feel it's a bit unnecessary for me anyway. Not having tried one it's hard to say really. I do like the rest of the wheel though. Except the silver stuff. I got rid of any silver stuff in my sight mostly. |

For the silver- I personally kept it because the silver trim still exists throughout the whole interior and felt that it would be too much carbon if the silver trim was taken out. This is why I went with a more blended OEM look, retaining the silver in the areas I felt was ok. |

The LED seems cool at first but then you realize that’s what you have a dashboard for. |

Ya I have thing about silver on the wheel in front of me. I changed my Silver to Carbon and alcantara. I don't mind the silver accents but the wheel was too much for me. Happy now. I got rid of the silver paddles too. Then I bought the carbon thing from Autotecknic that cover the front of the column in a carbon piece. Hard to describe. So here it is.
AUTOTECKNIC REPLACEMENT CARBON STEERING WHEEL TOP COVER - F91/ F92/ F93 M8 https://autotecknic.com/collections/g15-m8-8-series It matches up very very nicely with the carbon wheel/alcantara piece. Now I've ordered the whole steering column piece in carbon. Really looking forward to that part as then the entire column will be carbon. right onto the area under the gauge cluster. I've adding carbon stuff inside the last couple years. More to come soon. Door switch area's and HUD frame too. |
