tips for using a canon xsi with 18-55 and 55-250mm?

anyone got tips for using a canon xsi with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lense. like what are your preferred settings for certain things.

like cars and landscape.

there are some really great videos on youtube, i learned a lot about using my xsi on there.

get a circular polarizer for your outdoor pix (filters out glare like sunglasses). the hood is like a baseball cap to keep light from hitting your lens at a funny angle

i usually use av mode, center spot focusing, and burst mode

Polarizing filter effect

Apart from the usual use of darkening skies and accentuating clouds, polarizers can have a dramatic effect on photos of water and vegetation. These two are the same scene taken seconds apart without and with a circular polarizer:






Oh yeah, and you can make the sky really dark too...

If you're going to shoot over 200mm, make sure you use a tripod!
