Suction in my experience is a lot better adhesive doesn’t like to stick if it gets hot in your car and you fool with your camera it will come off and leave sticky residue but in cold weather like this winter you should be good. But I am currently looking for suction cup for rear window becasuse it’s adhesive standard

Did you install the Blackvue? I'm looking to get a dashcam. I saw that BMW has one and entertained so I can have dealer install but I read somewhere here that it is incident triggered and doesn't constantly record. I found this installation guide. Is it as easy as it looks? My idea of DIY is paying someone to do it for me. Thoughts?

Thanks.

I have the Blackvue 750 2ch on my car, and my wife has the 900 2ch. 750 is great, but the 900's 4K res is really good. Quite sharper than the 750, but the only issue we're having with the 900 is it constantly has issue with micro SD cards. Always have issues with cards every couple of weeks.

Easy install for someone challenged? Asking for a friend.

I have the same one and love it, the only way I would consider upgrading is if this set is stoled like my last one.

Yes, I did it and many consider me "challenged."

Super easy. If anything the OBDII power cord negates not having to tap the fuse. So it's really just a matter of figuring out where to tuck your extra cabling and that's it. Super easy at that point.

Instead of tape mounted to your glass though, I would look into a Blend Mount. Hang it on the stock of the rearview mirror, so it's cleaner and actually feels like it's more inconspicuous this way so if someone at service or valet needs to work on your car or move your car, not having it on the glass makes it less visible so if they do anything dumb, you got your evidence they don't even know.

At work some morons popped my hood not knowing I had the dash cam. Needless to say, I was assigned a parking spot immediately the next day after sending the footage to the supervisor.

I'm getting ready to order the blackvue. Thoughts on 750 vs 900 and also memory capacity necessary. I'm going to have someone do the install and hard wire.

Thanks guys

Congrats! I can’t speak to the 900 version as I have only used the 750. I am completely satisfied with the 750 in every way, and wouldn’t pay more for the 900.
As for the memory card, I have been using the 32GB for 2.5 years and never needed more.

Cheers!

I like the 750, but the 900 video quality is next level. With the 750, plates are still a bit blurry, but on the 900, it's clear and distinct. That's really why I have the 900 in my wife's car and I took over her 750. 32GB is good if all you have is the front unit, but if you get the front and rear, I highly recommend a 64 or even a 128 because if you have it on a 24 or 36hour loop and it catches something while you're in the office, and it's the middle of the day, it might just get written over.

Either will be great. Can't go wrong. If you're a bit on the budget mindset, the 750 will tick all the right boxes. You can forgo the tap-a-fuse route by getting the ODBII power port route. Saves you the headache of paying someone to do it and the only thing you have to do is found somewhere to tuck all the extra cabling!

very happy with thinkware F800pro with front and rear cameras and a side battery just for the dashcam.

Mounting them with the provided sticky tape was absolutely reliable through multiple 110+ degree summers

From what I read, when you mount the camera on the windshield or behind the rear view mirror, you tuck the wire in the crease of the headliner and around to the A pillar. No wires on the dash.

I have RSC-Labs-Nano-Dashcam
It's very small as it doesn't have a viewing monitor and sits nicely near rear view mirror.
Very good quality and no issues so far. I connected it to cigarette lighter power outlet which is located in the front passenger's foot well under glovebox (some F10s come with this option). Its stays on for 10 min or so after ignition is OFF and then disconnects the power to dashcam.

Dash cam, anyone?

I just bought a Garmin 46 dash cam for my car. I hid the wiring in the roof liner and ran the power to the center console. I loved it so much I bought another one as a gift for my friend.

I guess I've been seeing a lot of bad drivers lately and sometimes they effect me personally and I wish I could catch them being reckless. It's just nice to know if anyone in front does anything stupid, I don't have to defend myself. It's got automatic record function, voice control, GPS route mapping, and a host of driver's audio visual assistance. Lane Keep Assist, Collision Avoidance Alarm. (It detect sudden deceleration) it also detects moving traffic to alert you when traffic is moving.

I just have cheap Rexing cams in all of my cars. I didn't want any special features, just a basic HD recording for insurance in case of an accident. The footage looks good enough, you can make out plates from about +50ft away.

I'm just blinded my the potential risk and have made a conscious decision to not invest in a dash cam. I'm afraid it could have footage on it that's used against me in court.

Delete my dashcam history, kind of like delete my browser history.

There's much stupidity my cam has captured over the years, thankfully it's mostly other people's and not my own.

It's only a crime if you destroy the footage after it's been subpoenaed
