Here is a picture of the steering wheel that's getting custom built for me right now. It will look like this except the top will be all carbon fiber and will not have the LED electronics. I have 2 questions on what you all think would look best as I can't decide:

1. On the sides, should I get alacantra or perforated leather?
2. On the top, one red stripe or the 3 M color stripes?

I have a 2022 M8 competition coupe, it's frozen brilliant white, with Sakhir / Black full leather interior, red brake calipers, carbon fiber M Perf paddle shifters and interior trim. If this helps.

Either stripe will look great. I prefer the 3M stripes, but you can't go wrong.

Regarding the sides of the wheel, I'd avoid Alcantara. Think about the oils on your hands. There's just no way it'll hold up over time.

You’ve got the cf paddle shifters, so I presume you’re using them? If you are, you’re better off getting the LED electronics. Forget that middle panel, I never looked at mine, but Mmode doesn’t show you enough range in the higher RPM range around 7000 whereas the RPM LEDs do. So, if no spirited driving, would have no need but you’ve done every other upgrade, not sure why you’d leave out the LED rpm indicators.

Probably just my own opinion but not sure how you guys can stand those stripes in the middle of the wheel at the top. I'd find that very distracting. Same with LED lights in the wheel. Watching that stripe go up and down as I turn the wheel would suck to me. I certainly don't need them to know if my wheel is straight or not. Other than a cool look sitting still I just don't get it. For 99% of my driving I don't really even look at the tack in the car. Who needs that? The thing is so fast that all you need to do is push the fun pedal. If I was drag racing the car, sure, but everyday driving is tack-less for me most of the time. So don't need shift light in my face on the wheel. I agree it looks cool....but....naw for me.

I would never get the LEDs, it's going to be all carbon fiber at the top. The stripes look good IMO.

That sounds good. The LED's look cool but for my driving style, not needed.
I guess my concentration level is rather low as the stripes would be too in my face and distracting. Nice you have it either way.
