I'm in Virginia outside of DC, I have 4 vehicles and I pay about $200 month for just the BMW, but it's got full coverage up to a school bus full of Congress kids.

Not a straight up comparison as only a M850i but that is about my cost every 6 months as well. However, I'm in the Scottsdale area of Phoenix and insurance is high in this area period. My guess would be another $300 to $400 for an M8.

Same here in coverage and deductible with a clean driving record. AZ is high as it too is due to the expensive uninsured driver aspect. We have hundreds of thousands non-insured drivers (aka illegal aliens). Insult to injury as in the Scottsdale area the insurers capitalize on the ability to pay (aka sliding scale) to offset other areas in the state. Just like any other insurance business the total net premiums offset the liability ensued for total claims.

WTF??? How do I sign up for that? What company?

I own a lot of vehicles and the only one less than that is a 2005 Toyota Sequoia, liability only, driven 2K miles a year!

My exact initial sentiment but know it is market driven so everyone's mileage may vary.

Progressive Direct. The only issue is that their limit is $150k a car. Which worked out due to discounts.

Used to be insured with Progressive through an agency but then went direct which almost halved the rates.

I’m at 2400 12 months, AAA. Fully covered low deduct

I thought I was paying way too much and wanted to shop. Guess I am in range. AAA is one of the more expensive but like the service

Just to clarify, Progressive insures cars up to $150k in value. We have two cars that cost more but since the purchase price was below the $150k mark, it is fine.

For $385 (6 months) is $500k/$500k, $500 deductible with zero glass, roadside assistance and $60 rental car coverage.
Price seems unbeatable and we have had a number of claims over the years which they covered perfectly as we only allow a certain Mercedes Dealer Bodyshop to touch our cars (best in state)

If we get would cars well above $150K, like a McLaren 720 or so we would only use Chubb. They are pricey but have an agreed value policy option.
The value gets set, and if a claim occurs this is the price they pay, even years later. Perfect for specialty cars...

Do they offer an umbrella policy?

Wolfman64 for some additional clarity is Progressive Direct also covering your homeowners insurance? Generally this offers the lowest rates on the automobile side so hence the inquiry. I'll be shopping for new insurance in March (auto is up for renewal in April) and roll in a credit on the homeowners (good through December) in the prospective deal.

Chubb sounds like Jeweler's Mutual in my watch world passion as they are one of two insurers on the market that will deal with a single item appraised at $100K+. My current Allstate homeowners jewelry rider covers the watches up to $50K but they will not even play in the game for the higher valued ones. On the flip side Jeweler's Mutual covers fully against loss or theft but for a couple of watches I've had to sign affidavits that I will not travel out of country with them.

My final hurrah on the car front will be a Lambo so good to know that Chubb exists in that world. Thanks for the info!

We have Chubb for homeowners/umbrella, etc. and those guys are as good as they come. Pricey though. Top-tier provider, top three in the country.
We only have auto on progressive and wouldn’t consider them for anything else. It’s a mid-tier provider but we had them for many years.
The rates are excellent though. All our cars are high performance cars. Both AMG’s are cheaper than the BMW.
Almost embarrassed to post rates...
