I don't want to upset anyone but if you own a 6 and prefer the 6 that is your prerogative but the 8 is in a totally different league.
The 8 has the looks of 'exotic' , the 6 is a nice BMW.

I owned the revamped 6 back in 2004 and loved that that car but I never thought it was anything other than a very nice BMW.

The 8 design has gone much further, it has a new DNA which brings BMW design in an other league.

6= very nice BMW
8= design that competes with the Aston, Bentley and the likes.

IMO!!

Are you serious !!

There is no way on earth the 8 is in the same league as a Bentley or Aston design wise, this for me is BMW attempting to be aspirational without going the entire distance. The interior is a big let down, ie, plastic vents, switch gear etc all fall short. if they are wanting to charge well into 6 figures the product needs to have significant differentiation to the rest of the range, the 6 had these in spades, the 8 does not

You are correct in that the interior of the 6 is far more luxurious compared to other F series.

However the 8 compared to the 6 in exterior design especially the coupe looks far more sleek, modern, desirable and exotic. Exterior design-wise the 8 is able to compete with Aston Martin and Bentley etc and it does really really stands out and does not look an ordinary coupe

However the interior of 8 does not have the extra extra wow factor compared to the other G series

Never liked the frontend of the 6 series. The new 8 looks much better IMO.

I have always thought the front end of 6 series looks like an open fish mouth. The side profile is not that great to me either as well, it is only big wheels that make up for this . However the rear profile is great and even greater with M6. However the interior with the swooping 2 tone leather and the head lining is so great and luxurious

The hood meeting the grill on the M850i ( eliminating the nose cone cut line on 6) looks so fantastic

It's hard to believe there's less than a couple of years between them.
M6 looks like 10 years old next to 8.

Although the video is carefully edited to avoid showing it, it seems the 8 is more clever in minimizing the seam placement between the plastic and sheet metal. Those hideous transitions ruined the Porche body lines and most all BMWs made in the last 20 years.

I am now motion sick. Too many cuts lol. Rear of the 6 still looks amazing. 8 series for everything else.

thats because it basically is... debuted in 2012... BMW only facelifted it and that was just headlights and taillights on the M sport... (this is also the 640i, not an M6)

BMW moved the badge to an 8 to charge more. thats it..

Just by having placed the hood line where it should on the 6 Series....it’d be a totally different (and better) car with no need for the new 8 series

I want wider-at-the-top-than-at-the-bottom kidneys and proper Hoftmeister Kink!

I am not sure I agree with you. For example you cannot but notice the similarities in the exterior design of F10 5 series and G30 5 series, same for outgoing 3 series and G20 3 series. You can't really say the same between 6 and 8 series coupes. Their rooflines are so different, the interiors are so different. To me they are two different cars

However maybe the gran-coupes are closer

8 series with all wheel drive and V8. Used 6 series are excellent value for the money.

Then that just means BMW did a horrible job on the LCI's for the 6 because it's still looks old as hell next to the 8.

Lmao @ 8 series being exotic. Proof that BMW can put a badge on any car and people will buy into that BS. I wonder if these people have ever been in a Bentley.. M850i is a Bentley competitor as much as the i8 is a Ferrari/McLaren competitor. Thanks for the laughs.

I dont generally like big coupes but bought the F13 because it looked gorgeous. Cant say the same for the new "8" series. It looks basic and theres much better looking and performing cars out there for the money. Rather spend a bit more and get a BCGT.
