This car has the same power output and likely torque numbers as the F90 but is 100lb heavier - how does it have quicker numbers to 60mph?

More loading up on the torque converter? Or perhaps the M5 beats its rated number by a huge amount, the M8 only beats it by a little bit?

Lol 140k car and you still have to pay extra for cooled seats. Not to mention the competition package is laughable for the price you pay, 14k more for 17 bhp. Ugly.

Stunning car. Well executed yet not immune to the significant risk of depreciation during the first 2-3 years of ownership - surely to be ignored by early adopters.

Still - this is a gorgeous car which requires some practical perspectives to be turned off before running to the bank.

For the money I would mosey right on over to Porsche and drive off in a GT3.

$160k

Lmao!

And to the person that mentioned depreciation - you've got to be kidding me. I fully expect to see a used M8 GC for around $100k in a year. Half the value in about 2-3 years.

Looks great, but you're paying for badge and a slightly rare car that looks fairly similar to a standard 8 series GC.

This is literally used manual GT3 money. There's so many other options to this car that are arguably better. I'd rather a Panamera or be RS6 with money to spare than the M8.

Oh well. Maybe the M8 will be fun to own in a few years when early adopters are done with their leases

BMW, like Audi, (and creeping closer every year, Benz)are two brands that operate within the consumer insecurity sweet spot. Snake oil auto-manufacturers. Pseudo luxury....a la...features no one really needs or uses, tech-OCD cockpits, minimal utility yet a premium price. Heavy depreciation and gotcha-packages to literally force you to spend more. No doubt this car is beautiful but unless it comes with alpaca throw rugs, an umbrella stowed in the door and a champagne chiller in the rear, $160 ( before taxes, fees, and cost of the loan) they are seriously losing their mind. I bet the average speed in this “performance-luxo sedan-coupe over the course of ownership won’t exceed 60 mph. Ha! This chit is getting out of hand but, the wildest thing about all of this, consumers really can turn to only two other brands, Benz and Audi. And within these two choices, as an alternative, you might only have 2-4 choices. And we think we have choices.

I must say I never like the GC, but man this is a sexy car!

Anyone knows what color this is? I think it's too purple-ish for Aventurin Red.

you can find it under "special colors" when you press on body paints.
Some of them are considered standard body paints on the website so watch out.

OMG yes please

some will say its pricey but hard to say that unless you have driven it and or experienced it in person maybe when people do, the price is worth it it is a lot of money though so I expect the car to be pretty over the top in every category

I mean, ok. Are you thinking we'll see M8 GCs in every parking space at the grocery store? These are insanely niche vehicles and they'll command a premium for the right buyer. BMW Audi and MB are keenly aware of their target market.

You have the choice not to buy a brand new uber premium GT car.

To be accurate, in addition to more power and torque, the Competition model also adds a different suspension setup, Individual Full Merino Leather / Alcantara interior, 20" forged wheels, M Sport Exhaust, Extended Shadowline exterior trim, and a TRACK mode for M Views.

Seems to me the totally different suspension setup, forged wheels, full-Merino interior, exhaust, and "tune" is about right for $14k what do you think this option should cost? $6k?

Funny you say that. Very true. I will give the looks though to the BMW, I think it's stellar but with that logic, your right, I bet the P is still the better drivers car.

I don’t get your point. The Mini Cooper is a niche car. So is a Hummer.
