New M850 Accident

Driving in San Diego today saw a new M850 Alpine White (dealer plates still on) on the freeway. First off, if you're on this board, hope you're okay. Secondly, you were driving like an idiot on the road and your crash was 100% avoidable. It was the first rain in SD and we have crappy roads as it is, riding peoples bumpers to get to the fast lane and going 80+ with almost zero visibility was not a good move. Again, hope the drive is okay, but hated to see that happen. Driver kept driving after they lost parts of their front end and a side mirror, spun around a few time and was sideways on the freeway. Lucky traffic was slow because of the rain or else would've been hit head on. Was looking for them to pull over so could see if they were alright but was honestly surprised when the just kept going, maybe shock. Shocked the hell out of me.

Jeez, that's unfortunate. The dealer plates are interesting, wonder if it was dealership personnel's vehicle, or a test drive? Any pics?

Tried to get a pic, but between the downpour and the driver taking off wasn't able to. Watching the impact and the parts fly, definitely was front bumper totaled, hood was still intact, side mirror was gone. Front end parts were in pieces on the freeway after impact. Probably some scrapes along the driver side door the way they hit the divide (cement).

Sounds like a pretty selfish act as those parts scattered across the highway can do some damage to another vehicle at speed and/or cause a serious accident.

Yeah, everyone is lucky that no one was driving at a high rate of speed because of the weather. Glad the driver was able to at least drive away though probably with wounded pride what with the showboating. Glad others didn't hit the debris causing further damage.

that is one defendant that I wouldn't help, but I'd refer him to a good fellow law firm that could help. I hope he or she is okay.

Agree. See some pretty stupid driving in SoCal, but this one takes it.

Isn't that fairly close to SD BMW? I got my M8 there and recall it was inland a bit. With dealer plates perhaps an employee joyride gone very wrong.

What they hit? Another car or off road? I wasn't clear as they kept driving away

They hit the center divide so straight concrete wall. Hydroplaned car speed right into the wall going at least 80, lucky he didn't cause more damage. Was truly surprised they started up and just drove off.

Opposite direction. SD BMW is off the 163. Driver excited onto the 8 somewhere near Grossmont Center.

Not that I'm aware of. I believe the other dealerships are in North SD.

Indeed. Grateful for everyone on the road, that no one was going fast enough for multi collision.

Can you spot the $8K damage in this photo?

Shocked to get an estimate to repair this...

(hint - it's is not damage to the wrap...)

cracked headlight? if so, wouldn't surprise me to have an $8k estimate on this car.

This guy....

"This is one defendant I wouldn't help"......says the guy who offered free legal representation to the guy on here who killed someone in his M8 driving drunk.

I mean....
Just found it ironic that you said the guy was driving like an idiot....and then in the next post admitted you were trying to get pics of it but couldn't because it was downpouring......come on man.
