Vic’s car looks to be lowered perfectly and not slammed.

Tenac, your front gap is pretty big, appearing bigger than the rear. Your rear gap is still pretty big. You’ve got plenty of room to go.

I had the KW V4s installed on mine so not a comparison, but for height, I told the shop not to go too low due to track use. But I can still go lower with the 19 inch race wheels and the purposely stretched tires.

The shiny 19 inch Apex wheels have a set of PS4s on which lasted one track day and height was still on the high side.

My pics are crap. I don’t think I’m helping.

Any thoughts?

Here are my specs:

R: 20x11 ET 22
IMO, if you were to hit a dip at enough speed, the rear tire might touch the fender since the offset is so aggressive.

So his camera angle does lead to that assumption but having seen his car in person the rear wheels actually camber on flex enough to not hit and the gap (not lowered) does assist or alleviate such a bad situation.

Hey Fellas - i just bought a new M8... love it! Need to change the wheels out immediately as its the only thing on this car i really hate!

Are the wheels in this pic the ZP2.1? And this can run the above specs without spacers ? Sorry i'm also a offset dummy here!

F: 20x10 ET 20
R: 20x11 ET 22

thanks!

Based on those offsets and half inch gain in width, you will be fine easily

Your front net gain is 14mm and the rear is 12mm

On Oem wheels I can run a front 18mm spacer and rear 12mm with no rubbing and dropped. The only question is what tire are you running?

That is what my math says too. I have an appointment next weekend to get it checked for sure. It looks like a no go lol but math says why not.

Thanks, and those are the winter tires from the M850. The M8 is pretty darn sharp looking. We are a fortunate bunch.

But the M850 runs a lower profile tire. We're you running with taller snows on the M850?

I'm thinking of upgrading my wheels this spring to 21" wheels but not sure what offset I need to get a flush look without using spacers. I'm not planning to lower the car but would like to go with the following tire size:

255/35R21 Front/285/30R21 Rear

Currently my M850GC has the M728s with the factory default tires.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Yes, you can do that. Just watch the offset of the wheel. I have 20" (aftermarket) with oversized tires and 22" wheels (correct size). I will likely put one size larger on my 22" wheels this summer.

This is what they mounted on the M850 stock wheel. I use them on the M8 with the stock wheel. A little stretched, but no big deal.

Interesting. So, you moved your M850 tires (from 8" fronts and 9" rears) to your M8 wheels (9.5" fronts and 10.5" rears). Which means you are running snow tires that are about 1 inch smaller in diameter than OEM wheels.

The great debate around here has been if you can upsize your diameters without damaging the xdrive. You've shown its ok to go the other way (downsizing the diameter) - with no adverse effects, I assume?

Yes, been to BMW and two performance shops with the car over two winters and have always asked about it. BMW change my summers and winters over each year. They’ve all said no problem and only commented on the slight stretch on the wider wheel widths.

It’s a fair comment and a different conversation than rolling diameter on the width side of it, I ran non-optimal 295s due to availability on my 11.5 inch Apex wheels which were stretched and they actually ran well on the track.
