For those that have cross shopped SL63 and M8

I first thought the M8 was my choice. Then after a bit more research I am considering the SL63. Thoughts?

I'll for the SL63, as long as it's the new 2024 model.

Considered an SL55 but really didn't like the interior with that ipad on the dash look and completely touchscreen based interface. After having had the prior 2 generations of SLs i didn't want a soft top either.

I can't get past the interior of the SL. We owned a couple of 231's and feel the interior build quality has slipped a bit. Not to mention serious reliably issues on earlier releases, so many low mileage cars on the market. Battery issues remain, I think they provide a trickle charger since the battery drains if the car isn't driven often enough. Also there is something about needing to keep the key away from the car otherwise it drains the battery quicker.

MB forum is very active about SL electrical problems.
I was AMG owner before M8 and was offered one of first SL63s but rejected because of limited options (colors) at that time. Glad I did!
M8 is more conservative looking car but faster, cheaper and more reliable.

Electrical problems, and quality issues abound at the AMG group over the past 5 years.
My 2021 E63 had so many little issues that were just a result of poor build quality it was painful to see. Exterior trim pieces and bumper pieces popping off the car. 8 times, different pieces too, in 24 months.
My rear tail LED lights kept dying out, replaced the whole assembly twice
My front diff grenaded the internal gears
Interior noises that made the car sound worse than my 20y/o Lexus truck (car spent a collective 3 months at the dealership for interior noises in that 24 months)
etc etc.....
