Owning a second set of wheels.

Hey all, I want to get a second set of wheels. If anyone can share their experience with TPMS, and what needed to be done to have both sets working with TPMS so I can just easily swap with no errors.

Nothing needs to be done with a 2nd set of wheels that have the correct TPM sensors mounted...just MOUNT the wheels...then reinitialize the system (or select recognize tires on the iDrive TPMS screen). The sensors will send their data and the car will recognize them as you begin to drive. Don'tn forget that there's an owners manual built into iDrive...so if you need additional info, just open the iDrive owners manual...or if you downloaded the PDF version to your smart phone...you can use that if you get stumped.

FYI, I don't know which version of iDrive you have...but some of the newer versions reset automatically once you input the data of which wheels you have mounted. If you don't have that system, then just reinitialzie the system so that it starts a new baseline for the info the sensors are sending.

The sensors send data as they begin to move...this is how they TPM system knows their location as to temp & pressure etc.

FYI: Around 2019 BMW changed things up and incorporated the RDC module into the DSC module:

Dealer tpms was priced quite high.
I purchased these generic tpms for my m8 and they have worked fine.
