I don't get it why BMW does not provide a solution for this.

I've been BMW for many many years.
I've always wanted a V8 and a wagon in my thirties. I would waive the V8 if there were a G81 M3 wagon. But I think I will break up with BMW and will go for the new Audi RS6 for my next car. Even though the performance will not be on the same level of the F90 M5, but optical wise with the 22 inch wheels, it really makes the M5 look boring and practical wise it can't be beaten.
Can't fault you there, sir.

The RS6 wagon has me thinking as well...

This car makes no sense at all. Doesn't even look good. But, to each his own I guess.
Not everyone wants an suv, sav, crossover, mini van or whatever name they have for big, boxy vehicles these days.

Too expensive. Just give us a G20 or G30 Touring with the B58 inline 6-cylinder and choice of xDrive/RWD and ZF auto/6-speed manual. The purists will be silenced and BMW might actually see some good profits with wagons starting to become trendy again.

New CNBC article says wagons made up 1.4% of U.S. sales. Of that 1.4%, 1.2 was purely the Subaru Outback, meaning every other wagon only made up .2% of sales

Lol hell no. It is badged as Holden Commodore here and in the previous generation we could get such great options as the Maloo GTS, R8 Sportwagon and so on, basically your Pontiac G8 or Chevy SS but with different body styles.

Now it is a pile of crap FWD based generic car. Which I absolutely do not want.

Fortunately in NZ we can get the full range of wagons from all of the germans, there are even some E61 M5s around here! I just want a new generation M wagon.

I've been passively looking at Sport Turismos as my next wagon. Found a few 2018s in the mid 80k range with decent options! For that price, I'd take a ST over an 8 series SW any day.

If only I weren't saving for another investment property... 😢

Europe is a big place with many countries, but there is a significant market for this.

RS7 Avant base package is $125k+
AMG E63 Edition 1 starts at $140k+

Plenty about in London and major capitals....

I don't get it why BMW does not provide a solution for this.
...
The solution is Alpina, those cars are even coming out of BMW assembly lines and with this symbiosis in place it may be that BMW are not putting out an answer to the RS6 and 63s wagons themselves. I nurture a hope that at least an M550i Touring would come out, there was even a video out on Youtube from testing rounds on the Ring where I could spot one. I switch between driving 5-series Tourings and X5:s, with the wagons you have a lot of the benefits of an SUV without the truck-like clumsiness coming from the SUV format. For Autobahn driving at 200+ km/h I take a wagon any day. That being said, in Feb I switch from 540i Touring to X5 M50i...
