Yeah Spa!

Sounds like Lewis is waiting for Monza to take his engine penalties.

Looks Ferrari and Mercedes are on different tire strategies for the weekend.

My favorite track. Yes, Eau Rouge but also Pouhon. Wicked fast double apex left turn. Awesome track. Always a good race to watch.

I wasn't surprised when Hamilton took an engine penalty, but I was surprised when he took 2 engine penalties! That's actually a very smart strategy from Mercedes so they can create a buffer for themselves and prevent less penalties in the future.

Won't the grid penalties carry over? If Ham's got 30 places, won't the rest carry to Monza?

I wonder what's the maximum penalty (i.e. fresh Power Units or components) one driver can take in one race weekend?
Otherwise I'd stock up the components just in case. LOL!!!

If I remember correctly, nope. That's why HAM and Merc decided to take all the penalties they can foresee in one race weekend. Make sure they have sufficient PU components for the remainder of the season.

You can stock up on components as long as they remain unchanged. However, if Merc decides to use more tokens in the future then that means new components and more grid penalties. That's why it was smart of Merc to use some tokens and incur the grid penalties for Ham all in one race.

IIRC, last year McLaren-Honda incurred close to 50 grid spot penalties (or something close to a ridiculous amount) when they had to change engines on both cars.
