I always thought the 6GC looked better than the two door. For the 8 I feel the opposite, definitely looks better as a coupe.

Is the ride better or worse with the springs? I would like to know if you hit the bump stops etc.

And do you scrape on speed bumps, have to take driveways very slow and at an angle etc? I just got a m8 and the wheel gap is killing me.

No issues. I plan to keep the 35 profile tire—it delivers a much more compliant ride. My M5 was too harsh. This isn't at all. No bump stop issues.

Any rubbing with a lower stance?

The car looks automotive museum ready. Awesome.

Whats there to be bitter about? It's a nice car. Maybe the OP likes riding around on bump stops

I am the OP. My name is in the title, cool huh.

I'd buy another E63S if bump stops were my thing—I'm not sure that car actually had suspension.

To be hones the price for Springs is right.

Stock springs are not much more in cost then H&R

All he did drop it a bit.

I make Springs for living and using best material and coil/shot peen/grind/ and power coating we sell to our top Customers for $150 a set because they buy so many of them.

Obviously price depends on quantity.

May I ask why you took your $170,000 car and put $300 springs on an air ride suspension?

I'm totally not trying to sound like a jerk I'm just trying to understand the logic behind putting springs on a $20,000 suspension set up from BMW.

It doesn't have air suspension, it has springs. They were too long so I took them off and put shorter ones on and now it looks better.

Per MikoM, this is about the going rate for OEM springs so it's not like I've soiled the car or anything.

What made you think it has air suspension?

Thought I remember reading a car review that the grand coupe had air suspension but I know this is the competition version and after checking it it has the M adaptive suspension.

Just food for thought you should check out what KW is doing I'm thinking they are going to release a proper adaptive suspension system for the M8 Grand Coupe.

Dean some people wont get it. H&R is tried and tested and been lowering cars for decades. Just in case any one cares, the OEM springs are retailing for around 700 dollars and thats with BMW M tax and retail pricing. So its not like anyone went cheap here, the OP just decided he didnt want to drive a 4x4 while having increased/equal spring rates and good compression and rebound while maintaining the EDC.

Out of curiosity what was the original "adjustable" spring setup you were going to use?

Reason I ask is that I'm waiting for MSS to release their kit for the g20. Getting some good reactions from the guys over at Evolve.
