Personally, I can't comprehend paint protection film and ceramic coating, just drive the vehicle. But with leasing, you have a new coat of paint every 3 years.

PS multi BMW M engineers have told me to avoid frozen colors, it looks great in the show room, but is a challenge to maintain. I'm sure that the paint film and coating will affect the matte finish.
Don't ask engineers, ask owners.
I, being one, can tell you that while the risk is higher, the maintenance burden is lower (or the same as good care for any paint). And no - protective films do not necessarily ruin the matte finish. No experience with ceramic coatings though, just wax.

Actually this is one of the most beautiful BMW models made ever and finally a break through a long series of boring and outdated 80's and 90's -like design.

(The 4 Series and the new Z being the runner ups)

Drove one and loved the power. Also the best soundtrack of any BMW on the market. That said, too big and heavy.

OP: Appreciate the exterior; love the interior.

Still dislike the styling and proportions. It's not a sportscar and not a GT, still don't grasp the entire concept of the 8.

The frozen colours are hidious, certainly on this car. One of the BMW misfits of last years. So sad!

When I see the price tag on this car, my head starts to spin.

One of things I love with the 8 is there are just so many interior/exterior colour combinations. The black & white interior looks awesome - but not my order.

6 Series GC still probably one of the best silhouettes from BMW in recent years, the 8 has big shoes to fill, the 8 GC doesn't look as promising, wtf is that KIA stinger rear arch

Drove an M850i vert at the local M-Town event and it was amazing. The exhaust note was fantastic for being stock. This is definitely one of the best looking Bimmers on the market currently, IMHO.

Nope, it'll be fine. I'm having my whole interior being coated in ceramic.
Beautiful. Hope the ceramic coating works. I just did that to mine, but my carpet is black with Fiona red interior and sonic speed blue exterior.

Congrats and enjoy in good health.
Thank you, I appreciate that.

Did you ceramic the exterior? The interior will last depending on the use. A daily driver seat, 3 months. And passenger seat with the occasional person in the seat, 6 months. Dashboard, 9 months.

I'm having the whole works:
Exterior Stealth PPF
Ceramic paint, wheels and glass
Ceramic interior
Tints
K40

And I had my guy take off the stupid little "spoiler" that's on the trunk.
Yes I got the whole car done. Exterior, glass, carpet, seats, dash, wheels (outside and inner side), etc. comes with 9 year warranty with check up detail and touch up every 6 months.

I did not remove the trunk 'spoiler'.
