Why do Audis have so many angles? So many.

The old A7 is the ugliest thing out of Germany in the last decade, including the 5GT. Looks like they may have fixed some of it. I'm sure the A6 will continue to be better looking than this though. Like the i8, it looks like one car in the process of eating another.

Meh, I will wait until next generation so the grill connects with the headlights and spreads over the entire front bumper... give me my bumper-grill Audi!

Wow think you may need to seek professional help, my friend. That 5GT was no good to look at and HORRIBLE to drive. I took one out for a quick test drive - I'd say land yacht but that's being generous. It handled as well as an actual boat on dry land.

Every F10 was the turd to drive that the A7 looked like. And the 5GT is horribly ugly, but the A7 is even worse. The front and back looked like two different design teams worked on them and never talked. It just looks like a pooping dog.

The current Audi A7/S7/RS7 is Audi's best design by far in a sea of look a like, boring cars. This new one looks like a very nice evolution. I do not like the one piece tail light though. Maybe in time it will grow on me.

The whole 4 door coupe thing has certain design challenges - when the Benz first came out it was groundbreaking and nice to look at, most others haven't gotten it right. This is far from PC but it's like having an interracial kid - when you mix stuff up sometimes the results are breathtaking sometimes it's a mess.

What's weird is I really like both generations of A5 SB. But I do absolutely hate every CLS and don't particularly like the 4 GC.

The new S5 SB is a very nice looking machine, you are right there.

The issue is you can't look at these things in a vacuum. Take the 4 coupe, 4 GC, and 3 sedan. I think you would probably rank them in that order from most attractive to least. BUT if you need 4 doors and the true coupe isn't a viable option, the GC is sexier (IMO) than the sedan. At least a lot more uncommon around town. The 6 GC is a great looking car too, something about that one makes me like it better than the coupe.

Agree that the 6er Coupe looked weird. The GC was better.

But we bought a 3er over a 4 GC because of styling. The GC just looks like it's trying too hard, although a lot of the blame is the stupid side scuttle. I hate those things.

Of course I'd have bought an F31 first as I greatly prefer the style to either the F30 or F36. But would have wanted rwd and/or the B58 and in the totally unreasonable, a manual.

Ha - hence why we landed on a Dinan F31. Best we could do. My only hope in the direction is that wagon enthusiasts will become such a small but performance-oriented crew that it will only make sense to bring the really good stuff here. Sure compared to a 328 you can talk soccer mom into a X3 (or whatever) but no family man / gear head in his right mind would turn down a 340 track package wagon in favor of an SUV or crossover.

Don't know about the Emirates. But in Europe this car is challenging the 6GC and the CLS.

Yes, however, the 6 Series GC will soon be dead. And the new CLS still hasnt been released yet.

That is actually a shame IMO. I was waiting at my dealer and fell into a trance looking at an M6 GC. He saw me, laughed and walked away. Came back 2 mins later with a tag and a set of keys, off we went for a pretty remarkable test drive.

It looks fantastic. But even more fantastic is the completely all-new interior design! The next generation Audi A6 should be out soon as well, and I think it will share a similar interior design as the A7.

With this new design from Audi, this is exactly the reason why I was not exactly thrilled with the interior of the new G30 5-Series when it was first released. The G30 simply carried over what has already been done before, floating iDrive screen, vents in the same locations, console buttons in the same general locations as the 7-Series and pretty much the F10 too. But this new A7 design is absolutely different. It just looks so futuristic, forward thinking, and well thought out. Almost looks like a spaceship. I think it does share a few characteristics with the new Porsche Panamera design, so that's probably where some of design ideas came from on the new A7.

Anyway, we know Audi's competitor to the M5 has been the RS7 for some time now, I think they may even do an RS6 Sedan for this next generation and bring it here to the United States. If that will be true, I'm sorry but I'd much rather buy an RS6 Sedan over an M5 if basing the purchase on interior design alone. I also hear the next RS7 is being developed with 700hp and will take drivetrain tech from the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid. Interesting times we live in.

I love that interior but that's not enough to dissuade me from strongly considering the F90 M5. Also, the RS7 will be a rapefest for those of us that lease.

I am very impressed. I hated the old one, but this one new has been cleaned up. Now, let Audi Sport have at it.

P.S. The new A6 is the car I am REALLY waiting for.
