I've had this beauty for two days now, initial thoughts...

On the drive back from Derby over the peak district national park, a motorcyclist pulled up next to me at some lights. Leaned over, "that's a lovely machine you've got there mate". Which is really nice on day one.

Irks:
- I cannot get the car to receive the 'confirmation code' from my ConnectedDrive app. BMW say they've got an issue and it'll take 24 hours to reset. Hmn...
- The hotkey buttons (1-8) MOVE when you press them in - as in the whole black surround etc. - I've seen this on review videos too. Nasty. And I much preferred the button texture / design on my M4.

Joys:
- Man, it's comfy and quiet when you want it to be. Absolute luxury and so smooth over our awful Kirklees roads.
- The power seems to come from nowhere. So easy to accidentally fire past the speed limit, you don't even realise you're doing it because it's so effortless.
- I didn't get any sort of upgrade on the stereo of my last car, so it's so nice to have a subwoofer you can actually hear
- Everything about it is so very pretty.

Really pleased with this decision!

I've got the same blue with black wheels, except I got the carbon fiber package and ivory interior with moonlight top.

Connected Drive takes a couple of weeks to settle down. The remote camera function took many weeks before it would work perfectly on my car. There seem to be a set of updates at the back end, then to the car which just have a time frame of their own.

Check through this forum as there are many posts written on connected drive and the apps in the car with some good tips.

Fabulous color! Congrats on a lovely car.

My 540i has the same radio controls, and I agree they seem to be a bit of a letdown for what we pay. My M2 has individual buttons for each preset, but as plastic buttons sitting in a plastic tray, none of them seem to line up right and it looks cheesy as well. Sometimes you just can't win with BMW!

Or maybe we're too picky...
