Does M8 Have Active Roll Stabilization?

The ARS is - to me - one of the coolest features of the M850i, and it's not specifically listed by BMW as a feature on the M8. "M-specific kinematics and elastokinematics" are listed for the M8 instead. They might or might not include the ARS.

Does anyone know for sure? TIA!

Oh for sure the sucker performs. Just trying to sort out how much of the dual personality of the M850i carries over to the M8, so I can justify standing pat on the 850i. I like the 4WS and the ARS both. But I'm being tempted...

I am told BMW M engineers dropped ARS and rear wheel steering for a more fixed layout and for weight savings.

Thank you! That makes perfect sense. It also helps me stand firm with the 850i.

My wife likes the fact that the 850 is quiet and smooth. I don't have to tell her it will also do 1G on the skidpad. Amping that up to 1.1G at my stage in life would not be worth the sacrifice.

I'd also miss driving through parking lots just to play with the 4WS. I know, I'm becoming a geezer.

The M8 does not have ARS nor a number of other M850 features--weight savings. Instead, it's laser-focused on going as fast as it can arou... meh, actually that's a sufficient description I think.

Joking aside: my Comp model is lowered and running 295s/285s. Even so, it's still compliant enough (only in Comfort mode, though) that the wife doesn't complain at all about the ride even with all 4 of us in the car. She did, surprisingly, in the M5 Comp.

i had the ars on a 2007 650 and its the best roll bar system ever for a non track car. it allows a smooth ride and great handling. my following 4- 6 series cars didnt have ars and i really missed it.

no where does the web site list ars on any m cars. only on m850 and 5 series car. its not even on the 840 even as an option

It's only on the M850i. The m8 is more track focused.
