Look on CarGurus for a 2019 VW Tiguan with ACC. There are few to be had for less than $25k with less than 5,000 miles and clean title.

6 yrs / 72,000 mile People First warranty, it is transferrable. This warranty is no longer offered on new VWs.

Gotta wonder why there are so many available that are less than a year old. Me thinks the six year warranty is needed.

The premise of this thread was choices OTHER than SUVs. Thanks though. I'm ok going a bit over 25K, but I just wish everything wasn't some kind of lifted SUV.

Have you driven the current Tiguan? It is SLOW and the ECU hasn't been cracked yet, so there's no real work around.

Given what he was suggesting and given the requirement for sportiness, I was interpreting that as not. I'm not totally against one, but they get real "un-sporty" real fast...

don't buy beaters.

if you spend all day in your car as you say---buy the best thing you can.

don't worry about parking and crap.

live a little!

every day is an occasion. reward yourself.

I've lived both with and without a beater. The only thing living without a beater does is A: cause damage to my nice car; and B: discourage me from working parts of the northeast where my nice car incurs damage. Point B is a especially significant problem as many of my accounts/targets are located in dangerous (for my car) areas. A good example is Long Island City in Queens NY. You're pretty much parking on the street there; and it's not exactly Beverly Hills.

This really sucks. I gave my number to the salesperson and said to call me if they find one somehow...but he was pretty bummed about it too and it doesn't look very hopeful.
I've decided to get the Elantra GT N-line (from Seattle). It really ticks all the boxes with it's tech, with the ACC, remote start, heated/vented seats and steering wheel, etc. Space is good, not great, but very usable due to the hatch, 3" longer than the GTI and more cubic feet. Was thinking hard about a used A5 sportback or A4 allroad from around 2017 or newer, but at the 30K mile mark outside of the warranty there's a lot of little maintenance things and I'd rather not tie up even more money with something that wouldn't even be used full-time. The 10 year warranty is pretty enticing. I haven't changed my sig in years, but it'll go alongside the Camaro 2SS 1LE, radical difference.
