Sure, M4 ride too harsh, interior typical BMW. Don't get me wrong I loved the car and that was one that I looked at very closely. It came to wether I want to have pretty much same looks or something different.

550 I, same scenario although it's full of amenities that I like but not something I was looking for. Didn't really need back seat.. also dealer didn't have many to choose from

All valid reasons, but if I may add to the list of potential reasons.

F-Type looks and sounds just incredible, and is just "that much" more special and definitively more "unique". Tons of M cars on the road everywhere, but you don't see these as often in most areas.

It looks incredible, congrats again, hope it serves you well.

Good points Ari. For me the M4 lacked TRUE steering feel and overall driver connectvitiy to what the road/car is doing. BMW really needs to re-adjust if they want to be a true 'driver's car'. Jaguar has a truly exceptional package with their F-Type imho if you want a relatively powerful, connected feeling car. Congrats again on the Jag and they really seem focussed on keeping their customers happy too.

BMW, time to up your game.

Great car that Jag F-Type, enjoy!

I was considering the same -- but I couldn't justify the cost of the F-Type.
The one I was looking at was $83,000 -- and it was automatic, which was a compromise for me. But, still, bad ass ride so I was considering it. But still 340HP for $83,000 (????).

0 down / $1150 a month lease. It was just out of my price range -- because the residual value was too low in my opinion. They just don't hold their value.

Honestly....if I had that kind of cash I'd look at a loaded M3 -- 0 down $900 a month all day long. They love to lease those

The F-Type S is a bit underpowered and overweight for $80k+ if you are looking for just performance. You get one for the driving experience, style, and British heritage. Just like how we chose to drive our F30s and F80s over the vastly superior in performance and similarly priced Corvettes. It's not all about speed.

Agree jmg as the newer vettes are very impressive for the $. Just couldn't make the choice for one just yet, though nice to know they're sorting out the interior.

70k loaded Stingray with 460hp 465 lb-ft, 3300lbs, 0-60 in 3.7s, 1/4 in 12.2 vs my $80k moderately loaded M3, 425hp, 406lb-ft, 3500lbs, 0-60 in 3.9, 1/4 in 12.2. No competition, the Corvette is the better track/sports/performance car for $10k less. But like you said, I just can't make that choice yet. Despite the numbers, I don't have that emotional reaction when I see and drive a Vette.

When I see a F-Type S or R, however, I totally get it. Beautiful car, nice interior, Jaguar heritage.

Yeah, and btw i was always referring to the Jag R version. Really is a blast to drive, has great feel and makes fun sounds if you want it to at the push of a button. Was sooooo close to getting one, but darn that lack of legroom was a deal breaker for me

And yeah, the body is so sexy like you'd expect from a Jag.

I test drive the R as well and while I thought it was very powerful and sounded nice couldn't justify the extra 25k, plus when am I going to use the 550hp? I'm not into tracking my cars or racing them so went with the S. Also prefer the middle dual eahust to the quad on the R version but that's only my opinion.

My buddy from work loves his R. Looks fantastic and sounds great - honestly 90% of the reason you get one of these.

Glad you're enjoying yours!

BRG is a must! Glad you got the correct color. I must say, the audio on that thing can be THUNDEROUS. What a masterfully tuned exhaust note.

Thank you all, I really am enjoying this car, actually more than I thought I would. The only thing I'd ask Jag to improve on this is the nav and other connectivity related stuff. Miss the idrive in my 335 but that's about it. I will do a two month review soon and let you guys know how it is on a long distance drive as I'm heading east for holidays soon. Cheers

I like the sound from F-series too - this is something they mastered very well. I do feel however it has to be compared to larger Bimmers. For me F30 335 is smaller, lighter, nimble fun machine - they are completely different beasts

I know what you mean. Owned the 335 for four years and loved the car, just got bored with the interior having had so many bimmers with similar was time to move on to something more exotic

I don't think $10k is enough difference to be a deal breaker in this category, besides M3 got a lot more nicer interior than Vette, so that $10k difference is more than justified. What surprised me is that you are comparing 3 series (M3) to a Corvette - M3 can be a family sedan lol and a DD, while Corvette is a very narrow purpose car - that's a win for Bimmer here in versatility. Same 1/4 and slightly better 0-60 (0.2 difference) - I don't think "no competition" is a proper word in this case. No sir. But this is just my opinion

There is a very nice F-Type you have OP. I was thinking about the Jag when I get my M3, but too bad I needed a sedan instead. .

Hope I can get into one in the future.

"No competition" as in relative cost for performance on the track. However I agree, which pretty much what you are saying, which is why I drive an M3 and not a Vette.

That's an interesting change from a 3 series sedan. Definitely like the F Type and that sound it makes from the V8 is mesmerizing. I can't imagine it is more comfortable to drive than the 3 series though.

I have a M3 and I am switching to a 440i xDrive Gran Coupe partly because I am looking for a more balanced vehicle as far as comfort/power is concerned. Anyway, congrats! Enjoy it in good health.
