If he's looking for a sports car the WRX STI is a great choice. If he has wife/kids/other priorities, the 328i is a great choice.

Depends. I have no interest for a 328 . I'd rather drive an Accord-Maxima over that car. But that's just me. So STI it is because I love performance cars and the STI is very practical. In fact it has more room then the 328.

328i is a pretty uninspiring ride. WRX all day.

You can get a fully loaded G37 sedan for the same price as a base 328...

That being said, I'd take an STi over a 328 anyday...

I voted for the 328i.

Of course, im the Proud owner of an 06 AW 320i and an 06 325xi. I have no shame, I demand quality in my cars. Id commit suicide in that subaru's interior. Over the last month, ive fallen in love with my 325xi finally. You could never find me in a car that wasn't a bmw, only exception are lancer evos, fuck the subarus.

Tell him get an Evo.

Is it me or does cross shopping these cars seem strange?

STI, race bred rally car.

328i, fairly tame, entry level luxury car.
