damn.... that car is famous too. sad to see the car get destroyed. but at least the owner lives to see another day. i am sure he wont be racing anytime soon after going through this.

No joke man. Looks like the car will need some compound and hard polishing . Guess you just can't add crap to your car without knowing if it's going to work as intended or not . Glad the guy walked away, but what an expensive run.

The drag chute caused that mess. Chute deployed and lifted the rear wheels off the ground. Way more to adding a drag chute than bolting one on. Glad he walked away.

I think even at those speeds just using your brakes to slow down the car might be a better alternative than using a parachute. There should be more than enough room for him to slow down..

He had a 250+MPH run where he used only the brakes. Even then it looked like he was having issues. I think maybe that's why they thought it would be ok to just use the chute. Like SB said, it takes more than a couple bolts and a nifty parachute to make it do more good than harm.
