Should Bmw Purchase Aston Martin

Hey should BMW purchase Aston Martin.....what are the plus and the negatives...I would atleast consider it....I think it would give them the other super premium high end that would go perfect with Rolls Royce.....With that new riptide so far into production, they would be able to market it....gawd thats a sexy ass car, and it would let them one up porsche again....put the M-5 v10 in that thing omg...it blows anything ford could produce, and then they could really stop trying to push the 7 series up into the super luxury market.......but man they have been burned once with rover..but Aton has some premium plants and they have instand world name fame, unlike Maybach, you had to be a auto historian to understand that car, thats why to me it's not selling well. Or how about this maybe Ford should be seeking an alliance with BMW.....think of it....BMW brains Fords money....I think the Japanese would go wow...we are in trouble.

They should buy Aston Martin if they want to see their cars in James Bond movies again.

if they buy aston martin they should never put their asian touch on the AM. no offense to asians. (im asian BTW)

and no to ford. daimler infected mercedes with their parts. i dont want ford parts on my BMW. even a ford employee would discourage me to buy their products.

OK, I'll go against the tide and say YES.

Why? Because BMW already has a presence in the UK (MINI). Ian Callum designed the new MINI for BMW, and also the Aston Martin DB7. Then Fisker designed the Aston Martin DB9 and also the BMW Z8, and more recently the rebodied 6 series (2006 Fisker Tramanto.

I see alot of potential, possibly even some platform sharing with the 6 Series. Imagine the latest BMW engineering with the amazing design legacy of Aston Martin. Something to counter balance the Bangle era of design.

Just a thought... probably won't happen.

Mini was designed by Frank Stephenson. Henrik Fisker adimitted after leaving BMW that the Z8 was not his best and he did not like it himself.

Purchasing a brand has nothing to do with similarities in design language. In fact, you want 2 brands share nothing at all in design.

hmmm it might be a good idea. THe reason being that I just read that Coca-Cola had the chance to buy Quaker (quaker oats and stuff) but decided against it. THen Pepsi went ahead and bought Quaker. The interesting thing is that QUaker owns Gatorade which has like 80% of the sports drinks market. GUess who's the soft drink giant now?? PEPSI!!! Coke is trying a bunch of news things just to keep up with them...

So in regard to this BMW buying AM thing- I think it might be a good idea. I mean they will have more money, more employees, more ideas and innovations.
