CSL, GTS , CS should be offered only on M4/M3 and below models. Size matters.

Perhaps CS. Track oriented and also mall ready.

Or perhaps you are only at the mall and not at the track. I see plenty of M4 GTS on track.

GTS is to be replaced by CSL and indeed these are track focused and not seen often seen at a mall .. or maybe it's that I never go to the mall.
Track this. Track that. Almost a car forum meme. Everyone shouts “track” but many are too busy working to pay off the car. Yeah right. You know what I’ve seen at tracks? Miatas, 350z, STIs, evos, stangs, and modded no-names. Puhlease...

I've seen M4 GTS on track at High plains raceway in Colorado , several at Motorsport ranch cresson and eagles canyon in Texas , another that attends events nationally and resides in Oklahoma currently , as well as another in Tulsa that's always at Hallett ; and I believe there is a fellow in PR that has TWO and keeps one at COTA.. that's just off the top of my head in a minute without thinking hard.

Some people DO want a track only car.

While I certainly see the cars you mentioned above, in my area of the county there are some seriously high dollar cars including mclaren, all manner of Porsche GT, etc at trackdays.

PRO TIP: A track car under warranty is a lot easier to maintain than any of the ones you've listed above.

AMG GT , PORSCHE GT, BMW CSL Let's rock.

For my part, I've never seen an E36 M3 CSL...

Definitely agree with this guy.. horrible street car. And really they only had " hand picked motors".... no major hp bump and the single throttle body ...

I've been in an E36 LTW with Euro motor .. on. Track ..at Putnam Park in Indiana. (Not at the mall ) My instructor at an HPDE owned it... That motor Made the E36 feel like an E30 M3. Wicked. That's back in the Chuck Stickley days an old schooler like Sedan_Clan would know.

It's a shame that some very special M cars never got the full zoot treatment here in the US.

E30 M3 ... the evo models stayed in Europe
E36 318ti.. no full M motor
E36 M3 we got the LTW ..
E46 M3 CSL .. never made it over
E90 M3 GTS...
F80 M4 GTS. Finally giving the dawg a bone!
F80, F82.. CS ...ouch the price on the first two...

F87 CS... coming soon ...
F87 M2 racing .. to replace M240
F87 M2 CSL..
F82 M4 CSL swan song ?
M8 CSL completes the trio and ushers in the next M2 and M4 line ..

IF times have changed and our market share demands MOAR M CAR .. then so be it.

You know better. The E36 M3 never carried the CSL badge, regardless of how that youtube video is titled...

Totally agree!

Every car gets track tested.

The problem with bmw is the M has been diluted.

M package
X5M
X4M
X6M
X7M CSL

If you're old enough to be a fan of the original M3, you're gonna judge anything with an M moniker.

The people who buy this car are retired and live in Florida or California

The most important feature for the buyers will be can it fit a set of Golf Clubs.

Couldn’t agree more. People need to wake up and stop being hoodwinked by these companies who play on your emotions and wallet every 18 months.
“Track track track”. Every year. Every version, same chant. $150k car worth $102k 1.5 years after ownership. Finally realizing all these cars are the same. The “Seats” thread was funny. As if new seats will do something fundamentally different than seats of the past. Ugh!

It does seem like an m-performance wing more than anything else... you seem confident in this statement like you have inside info lol I'm going to go with you on this one.

This thing is a pig, any "track edition" is solely for marketing/profiting by selling a higher-priced, more exclusive model.

I think the wing on BMW CS cars will be looked at the same way as the black rubber 5 MPH bumpers on cars from the 80's. Eventually technology advances and we find a way to integrate/hide these parts into the frame.

The only problem here is that other manufactures have already figured this out, so why would BMW not adopt a similar hidden wing for their flagship "spots car."

So now we know there is a new motor the S68 my guess is there will be both the M5 CS and M8 CS. Similar to BenzAMG and their black series.
