AMG GT and AMG GT63S are two different cars. I was looking at the GT compared yes to the convertible M8 I ordered. Same price by a few thousand. Maybe I miss understood the request AMG GT. I was thinking coupe not the 63.

Thoughts on AMG GT? I don't like it's based on the E class, though.
Yes they are but the OP brought up that he didnt like that the GT (mis stated) was based on the E class- so most of us picked up that he was actually referring to the GT63S since the GT is based on its own platform.

Ahh gotcha so when they said GT they meant GT63.

Correct, I meant 4 door AMG GT. The 63 is a no-go for me for the price.....the M8 is way cheaper with the same stats. The 43 and 53 variants are just fake AMG's to me.

MB has been copying BMW for years.....

That lack or originality is a nonstarter for my pockets.

This may not be the most agreeable statement but I really dislike the interiors of the Benz... Just way too much going on and lack of ease. I find myself hunting around for almost everything. I get it over enough time I'd get used to it but having more than a few vehicles I don't spend enough time in it. lol

Yeah after having 12 AMGs and 12 M's I wont agree that the copy is there as both have been back and forth in the HP wars but Ive never once felt that any of my Benzes remotely reminded me of my M's.

I will say that as of late, Ive been running more towards M as Im on my 4th in row and havent had an AMG since 2018. That does speak volumes to my own passion about whats in my garage. The C63 BS will never go away though.

Sound
Interior
Exterior
Driving Feel
Performance

All of these differentiate over the years since my first AMG and Benz waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back LOLOLOL

Im a dual fanboy thru ownership and have a P car fetish to boot and Audi as my side bitch.

GC felt big and lots of bodyroll on corners compared to the coupe. Coupe felt tighter and way less body roll, acceleration was more fun on the coupe as well. I was very between RS7 and M8 Coupe Comp. It was a tough choice but i had the older gen RS7 and wanted to do M this time. End of the day, its all personal choice. We all like and feel different things on different cars. Cant go wrong with any of those cars, they are all plenty of power and great tech even tho i have to admit Audi interior is pretty sleek touch screens all over haha
Not sure about the body roll and acceleration comments. We have the M8C coupe and have recently driven the M8C GC for a couple thousand miles while in Europe. So much fun to go as fast as the car will let you without having the fear of cops/loss of license/or worse

While I personally prefer the coupe as well, both cars felt more or less identical in demeanor and performance. In the Swiss Alps the car felt big but then both are...

If anyone wants to see how some people over-value their vehicles just cruise through the Dupont Registry Instagram.

Case and point for the question the AMG GT.... $600k for basically what a 2019 ZR1 could do better at.

Definitely overpriced but such is the market at the moment. That BS is a track focused car and clearly more capable than the ZR1 though.

We'll see what the next C8 derivatives can do but the AMG GT (2 door) models are great cars and fun to drive...

I (respectfully ) disagree with almost all of your thoughts on the Audis having owned RS7s, too. They're lifeless, lacking in feel and underpowered in this company… in my opinion.

Thanks for your honest thoughts.
Most definitely my friend haha We are all car enthusiasts and i love seeing different opinions. Bikes and cars my passion, had a good share of bikes and cars and always love sharing my thoughts and reading others. We are blessed to be able to experience those beautiful machines!

I do agree with you as they are similar of course but i felt better on corners in the coupe. Every sunday i go hit some twisties wt a group of friends so Coupe definitely suited me more. My test drive was 10 min only in the GC anyways but from get go i felt different in turns.

Saw one in person here in VA, car has an unreal presence. What a beast. Sounds amazing too. Price is crazy i agree. C8 Z06 is unveiled and performance numbers look awesome. Looks of it dont do much for me, i much rather prefer the manual ZR1. Also if considering that class, i have a 2018 NSX and absolutely the best exotic i had in that price range.

I'm not one of those on brand guys either, even though it seems recently BMW, but it's the latest thing to tickle my fancy. Super looking forward to the M8, I am in need of a GT car.

Speaking of waaayy back, not so long ago a Jaguar F-type was such a fun ride, but I recently been driving a 21 and it is so neutered. Some how they sucked the fun out of it.

ironic you say that as I had the first gen of the F Type R back in 2014 and it was a bit of a wild ride... the oversteer was too much (rwd) and the suspension choppy. It sounded like a bad ass mo fo though. The ZF8 in that car was sloppy, slow, and just had bad TCU programming the rendered the car not so desirable. I had for 4 months and dumped it for a 991 Porsche GT3.

It's funny I never thought I would have been looking at a Jaguar and not looking at it for the refinement but rather the stupidity the RWD V8 F-type put out... lol For the price it's hard to beat the fun, but that 991 1000% better other than sound too me.... Then here comes the new F-type and I think the Z4 would be a better buy.
