no-- 1500-1600 with the pipes in the cost and labor (includes pipes for straight piping too).

Ben didnt do my resonator delete but that was 200 bucks including the pipes. The long labor process is the secondarys since it requires exhaust adjustment.

Flying off the shelves because of that video. No one in good conscience can watch that and not lust for option 2. I'm so disappointed. I'll re-order when you have them back in stock please keep me posted. Hopefully the resonator pull will hold me off until then.

Vic55 video helped, but this is something that has been popular with F90 M5 and F95/F96 X5M/X6M.
To tell you the truth, best to order and it will be shipped once the materials are back in stock.

Just a question, a lot of V8 engines are getting a more shrill / high tone sound if you delete cat's same on the RS6's etc.

Personally I like a deep dark tone, more like the 63 AMG engines without OPF's. Does anyone have an idea how to create a deep dark sound on the M8? (louder than stock)

Im not sure here-- I find the car to have a very nice low rpm growl and a more exotic adjustment up top. Of course we dont have OPF's here.

Adding primary catless downpipes will definitely add more decibels but I dont think that will get the tone you are seeking. You need a different engine set up for that. I pulled the multiple resonators (there are 3) in the 2017 RS7 Performance and felt I gained more grunt and growl but again no OPF's.

Mercedes has their hot V setup and exhaust better designed for that "mopar" ish sound.

Our M8c is in for service and the dealer gave me a new X3M Comp as a loaner (20 miles on the clock).
Besides the opportunity to break the car in properly that car sounded a lot more aggressive than the M8.
May have to copy your exhaust setup

Interesting as Ive heard the X3M and X4M exhaust quite a bit and I felt it was just like ours (stock to stock). With the mods Ive done there is no comparo as you know very well.

Drove this thing again this morning. Definitely louder than the M8 (on the inside) although not as throaty and higher pitch. Not a V8 obviously and I am unsure how much of it is synthesized.

But it created my desire to get more sound out of our M8.
Didn't help that we pulled our AMG GTC out of hibernation after 4 months which greeted me with a proper exhaust

On a side note I wonder how well these cars sell if MY21's already make it into the loaner fleet. They did the same with the 8 series...

The X series do not have the same cabin insulation that the F9X's in the M series have. Our cabins are so damn isolated it took me two exhaust mods to get where I wanted to be.

Thats definitely a nice SUV though and I would consider it if I was an SUV guy.

Agree with you there. It is definitely noisier inside
That said, it is a fun car to drive, nice looking and seriously quick. Just don't care for SUV's...

The job took about 4-5 hours rack to unrack and I am extremely happy and NO welding- just OEM brackets.

I would say that on my drive home (60 miles) I was able to clearly open up the car to 140+ and run those rpm's up; the car is definitely louder under load (maybe 30-35% more) as the rpm's draw up. The barks and pops are crazier than ever on run downs and hard pulls. I was able to go under regular tunnels Ive visited before and there is no doubt the car is much louder. But its still docile at lower rpms and drone which is highly subjective does not hit my ears.

I like it- I like it alot!

So here are some pics I took plus Ben's cell phone YouTube. Keep in mind that the standstill vids are with a fully warmed engine and the car already had the resonator pull done in December. The soft limiter did hold the car back to 5k rpm's but thats fine; its parked. The one take off vid part gives you a better idea of the loud bark on up shifts but even then the car was not up to speed.

yeah because I didnt replace the OEM rear valved section.

Its the best bang for the buck exhaust mod Ive done.

I meant to ask, as I am not sure, did you have to cut out the secondary cat section or simply unclamp factory pipe and reclamp new er delete pipe?
