The Java Green M8C makes another stop on it's marketing tour. Note to self that if I find a smoking deal on a CPO Java Green M8C pass on it.

It’s always fun and pleasurable seeing a Bimmer winning and demonstrating its superiority.
That said actually I like that Java green a lot as I think it kind of fits on the 8 series. I first saw it live at a BMW dealer not too far from my area which jas an M850i in that color and probably the only one in the country.

Hmm...$176k?! I think I'll take the GT500 plus a 718 GT4 for around the same money.

Its just weird to me that every video I see on this front page are basically straight line drag races....

What happened to BMW building cars that handle well through a track?

Do you guys really care about this straight line speed? Is it 1977 and we're racing camaros and mustangs at lights?

Congrats BMW, you make fast boats now. This car is like 5,000lbs. The 5 series is the size of the old 7, 3 series size of the 5. Boring.

I just... don't care about straight line speed. Theres so much more to driving

Oh and I'll take the Mustang for significantly less $$. $130K and up is for Porsches

Would have been a much better vid to see them racing around Willow.

Shift Sector did their first racing event in 2011 there - half track day and half rolling race event. Can't believe it was over 9 years ago. Time flies.

The masses don't agree with you. It's all about marketing. And a sub 3 second zero to sixty car is going to draw a lot more attention to the brand than a tiny nimble coupe that still in the 4 second 0-60s. Just the way of the world now

Right, BMW is just appealing to the clowns who only look at 0-60 numbers and not real drivers... got it.

I get what you're saying, and I think thats exactly the issue. BMW just trying to appeal to a different crowd (look at the new m3, and my god the m performance parts)

Mustang comparing with M8 is overkill. Should've been with M2C or M3.

From a price perspective maybe but they already spoke about that. The GT500 would wipe the floor with the M3 or M2C.

From a power perspective, it lines up well with the M8 or an M5 C.

The GT500 isn't a run of the mill mustang it has over 700hp stock.

Yeah hp wise it is for M5C and M8. Shelby is a different league, but the price is almost double on base. Crazy. But definitely the M8 looks gorgeous in my taste. Hopefully it doesn't evolve to the likes of G80 with its grill.

The GT500's biggest problem are the Ford dealers. Everyone keeps mentioning the ~$72k price on the GT500, but ever single one I've seen has a significant dealer markup putting at lot closer to $100k.

I laugh every time I see one for sale $120k + on auto trader. Sad thing is some ppl must be paying if if all the dealers are pricing this way.

Crazy to think some would opt for that over building one for significantly less. Hoping the prices come back down to earth as I'd love to buy one in the near future

It's because the 18k Track Pack is pretty much a must due to the tremendous weight savings. This pack alone pushes the price to 90+k.

Two very different vehicles that are awesome in their own way. The M8 is a fantastic luxurious cruiser with some serious power. The GT500 is a fun toy for the race track but it is still just a modded Mustang, both out and inside.
