Exactly !
I think it's gone be a nice but, I can't wait for new M3 even thinking going M2CS
Coming from F90 M5 and I have to say it's wicked fast ( Specially after tune and other modes ) but for me it needs to be smaller lighter and MT it's a must for me.
Buy up the manual M-Cars before they become fully extinct.

123 mph = 180.4 ft/s (trap speed of the M850i)

So the moment the M5 finishes, the M850i still has 0.6s to go. 180.4 ft/s * 0.6s = 108.24 ft. That is not perfect since the M850i is not going 123mph when the M5 finishes, but it should be pretty close. The rate of acceleration is fairly low by then.

So yeah, >100ft so technically hundreds of feet.

Tested by the same publication, the M5 is significantly faster.

The regular M5 got a 0-100mph of 6.6s by C&D. When you compare these times, you really can't compare across publications. They all test these differently and C&D tend to get the absolute fastest times of anybody. C&D got a 0-60 of 2.8s for the base M5.

Here's the difference, M5 listed first, M850 listed second both tests done by C&D:

Test: M5, M850i
0-60: 2.8, 3.3
0-100: 6.6, 7.6
0-150: 15.9, 18.5
5-60: 3.7, 4.3
30-50: 2.2, 2.3
50-70: 2.4, 2.7
1/4: 10.9@129, 11.5@123
Top Speed: 163, 159
70-0: 147ft, 161ft
skidpad: 0.98g, 098g
Ah my bad. You are right. I'm my mind I was thinking of quarter mile times. HA. I was like no fucking way. xD
M5 is a monster. Nothing comes close unless it's the next gen M5

I drove one at a G20 reveal event at BMW Seattle on Sunday. As an M4 ZCP owner, I was impressed. Fast as hell and omg the sound that comes from that engine and exhaust is amazing! Can't wait to meet the M8.

First of all LOL. 108 is hardly "hundreds" as it literally means plural hundred. Or multiple hundreds. Not simply 8 more than ONE hundred. Cmon man.

And yes I'm aware of the math and was under the impression he was comparing M5 to CP given his placement of the comment which was .3 sec difference which again....is 56 feet. Shocker that it's about half of your .6 at 108'.

Easy math nerds. Just go drive one and leave the technical stuff to the engineers.

Really? Have you been in one? 3 series or 4 series has more rear leg and head room.

Between the M5 Comp and M850i, easiest estimate would be to assume the 0.9 difference in 1/4 mile time right before and after the M5 Comp breaks the line is similar (though not precise), at 130 mph that's 172 ft in 0.9, so not hundreds but closer to hundreds than 56 ft

this car is just impressive all around. i know people are torn on the looks but i recommend holding your tongue until you see it in person. i've seen it in white, orange, barcelona blue, and carbon black and the carbon black is a game changer.

So i love my G05. Except for the oversized, overly chromed, psuedo bling grill that makes me look like a) a proud buick owner, b) a proud Mercury owner, c) a giant blue whale poised to consume millions of plankton at the same time, d) all of the above.

So i did a vinyl black out. Here is the pre/post. I love it as much black as i hated it chrome. 2019 BMW chrome blackout.

i have sit in both. The m850i felt much more expensive even though the dash architectures are quite similar. The exterior looks much better than the new 3 series IMO.

M550i : M850i :: M5 : M8

For those who who understand that, I'm not sure why the M850i is being compared to the M5, other than price point.

The M550i is the half baked M equivalent of the M850i?

interesting tidbit of info here. Motor Trend tested the M850i and the times are considerably slower (specifically the 7mph difference in trap speed).

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/bmw/...t-test-review/

Motor Trend is usually good with tests and always pushes out the fastest times for cars. Curious if the car and driver test was a typo or maybe a ringer car? Will have to see how Road and Track does with this car, and even the LCI 7 series since it has the same motor and is just a few hundred pounds heavier which should give us a better idea.
