Video from Nov. 22, 2016.
Time was 7:05.12 but conditions were not optimal: cold and slightly moist surface.

It's pretty weird to watch video of record setting Nurburgring run without engine noise, just electric whine and tire squeal.
Welcome to the future I guess...

But can it run over a sleeping policeman?

Rules are rules.

I want to see the full in car video. Interesting he went around the outside in the carousel. Not enough suspension travel???

I wonder how fast a current Radical RXC would be, seeing that their previous record of 6:48 was set 8 (!) years ago, so also with 8 year old tyre technology.
The only real review of a RXC proved that on street tyres it drove circles around the mclaren P1 'all day long' (conclusion of EVO magazine)

What kind of battery level is left after one lap? Can it drive home on the same charge?

wow, acceleration is brutal.
I think the main advantage is that the output of the electric motors is very very controllable, so traction control can work far more effective than it could ever work on a combustion engine. (I can imagine that with the torque this thing puts out even on 4wd traction control is a real issue)

Looks like a stiff ride though.

The battery tech in this thing is probably leaps ahead of a tesla's, no limp mode here

What a boring, but insanely fast lap. Electric motor definitely lacks the character of ICE engine, but holy hell is that thing impressive. Not only the power but the chassis and aero that thing had looked to be pretty amazing.... It just stuck .

This certainly solidifies it, electric is the way of the future. I always told everyone I knew a bucket list item of mine is that I will track an electric car. It will be even better if I do it not just because the technology is available but rather because it is simply the better value for track work. Hopefully that day comes!

If you watch the build, the tools they have are up there for top of the field. They were not messing about. A lot of money has been thrown at this car.
