I don't think any of us are "whining" about Paris Hilton being able to afford an SLR. I mean, hell, I have a Z8 Alpina and a G55 with almost 500hp in the garage...I'm not jealous of her in the slightest bit. I think you completely missed the point of this post and it's replies. It sucks that this gross skank doesn't even appreciate the things she has. She just buys the most expensive and trendiest items because "That's Hot". I mean, this Ho even buys animals as accessories. We're not whining about her money, we're just amazed and disgusted at her stupidity...and I think we really just feel sorry for the SLR!

That post wasnt directed at the thread, just at the individual who appeared to be doing the most in the thread at the time.

Regardless, there tons of stupid rich people that do worse things with their money than spend it on a merc and help the company by showing it off.

If you say she doesnt appreciate cars and thus shouldnt have an SLR, then she probably shouldnt have anything because chances are she takes it all for granted, as many rich do.

As BMW owners, people on this forum will knock things with a 3 pointed star (understandably - hey i bought a beemer over a merc too!).

The SLR is actually hand built by McLaren - not Mercedes. It's built alongside the Mclaren Mercedes Formula One racing machines (which incidentally pi**ed all over Ferrari last season ) at the McLaren Technology centre in Woking, England.

However, she should just have blown the extra $500,000 she would have needed to buy a 100% pure McLaren - the McLaren F1 (Powered by BMW )

Champions service department, at least the one on Copan’s is amazing (I just dropped off my car today)…I have not used 441’s service department yet (although the LeMans wining Audi R8 in the window is a nice piece of automotive eye candy), but it looks like a very nice dealership, great layout…plus he is able to say that he works at the largest Audi dealership in the world.

I’m not, I was just comparing my personal feelings regarding self-earned rewards and those handed out for free (it does not necessarily apply to PH).

Regarding her status as worthless, as I posted, this based on the opinion of a friend (who’s opinion I value) who personally spent time with PH, and said she was worthless.

My next door neighbour owns a 360 and I can happily confirm that he is an ass and a total git. On the other hand The guy whos stays round the corner owns a lambo. Now thats a real Italian supercar. Ferraris are just horrible cars, I can't find anything to like about the cars or the company, much less their cheating formula one team (who get away with murder becuase they have the FIA wrapped around their little finger).

And don't start me on the business whereby they lowered themselves further than they had previously managed by 'racing' at the US GP last year, after single-handedly causing the problem there in the first place by refusing to allow modifications to the track. Simply because they had not a hope in hell of winning much less scoring any points, they acted like petulent children and refused modifications to the track which would have allowed the 14 Michelin shod cars to race as well.

(Its of note that real racing drivers like Kimi Raikkonen and David Coulthard were heard prior to the race on the car-to-pit radios begging to race despite the dangers to themselves in doing so) meanwhile Schumacher and his teammate cruised around Indy for an hour or so (having various items thrown at them by the fans) before celebrating a hollow victory over two slowest teams on the grid that year. Rediculous.

They were being been beaten senseless by McLaren Mercedes for two and a half years in 98/99/early2000, who at the time were using a new exotic alloy in their engines. They tried for years to figure out how to do it themselves, failed and couldn't hack it. They complained that it was unfair because they couldn't use the same hi-tech materials as McLaren. Thereafter Iridium Beryllium was banned, Mclaren slumped with engine failures in the last few races of the 2000 season and surprise surprise Ferrari lifted the championship. Why didn't such a 'prestigious' company with such 'racing heritage' knuckle down and beat their competitors fair and square?

The list goes on and on, I shan't bore you.

To be fair some of the old ferraris are lovely and are realy great cars. They did have racing heritage, they had great drivers like Gilles Villeneuve, who actually battled with their rival's McLarens and Lotus'. But now Ferrari to me is synonymous with cheating, cheapness, low morals, and an undeserved reputation of being great. Luckily that reputation is held mainlt by flashy and hollow people wih no taste such as Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.
