I was 16 when the 4th gen came out. WAY before F&F. We were all obsessed with the Supra Turbo back then. Instant legend. This was a car that was literally as fast as a Ferrari in a straight line. The performance numbers were awesome for the time and unreal at that price point.
Same here.. I was in high school when the MK4 was in the dealers. I could go to the dealer to drool over it. The Supra turbo was a toy and unobtainable for most younger middle class people - $40k for a new car in 1993 is $80k in today's dollars.

Still, back then I'd drool over the Japanese unobtainium like the Silvias, Evos, WRXs and GTRs more... Those I only saw in videos and Japanese car magazines.

That's a great question. Red was always considered the least desirable color but I think this auction goes to show that low miles will bring high dollar no matter what color. I would like to see how much a RSP or quicksilver color car would sell for in similar condition.

With the prices I'm seeing, I'm in a similar situation as you where I am starting to get thoughts on how much mine would bring

My big issue is trying to determine the delta between the targa cars and the much rarer hardtop cars. They only brought 10 silver, out of a total 326, hard tops to the US. There are so few that sell publicly that it's hard to determine what that extra value is.

It was in the 90's.

Ahh nostalgia.

Much more of this and I'll be watching Getaway in Stockholm again.

Nice! Are those Fikse FM10 wheels? If so, many years ago when deciding which wheels to get for my Supra, I debated hours between those but ultimately settled on the Fikse Profil 5S.

They're Profil 10s.

Cut that in half (or better) if you're ok with RHD!

Targa makes the car for me. What a car with no roof!

Coupes are cooler, in my book. Just as a GTB Ferrari was cooler than a GTS.

You are about to find out. Except new supra motor (I meant BMW) barely makes more HP than the MKIV and no manual.

Can’t imagine buying one myself - when you can get a more luxurious, better turbo motor and better performer in something like a 718 Cayman/S/GTS. BMWs Z4/5 is a long, long way off what Porsche has in the Boxster/Cayman from any angle so I can’t imagine the Supra will be anywhere close either.

I wish i never got rid of mine, def would have gotten rid of the aero and would have put stock body work back on and factory repaint.. back then i was just a kid who didnt want to deal with repairs (cyl 6 had a catastrophic leakdown results). I still sold it overnight for 28K, although i got it for some 21-22K less than a year prior.
