Stunningly gorgeous (especially in red), for a Lexus this is the one time the spindle grill absolutely works. The v8 is not only bulletproof but sonorous in its sounds and natural in its power adding to the emotion. The LC may not be a canyon carver but masters the GT car while adding a bit of character/soul and the interior plays to the typical Lexus strengths of great quality and plush materials.

If only they would fix the awful s**t infotainment. All Lexus needs to do is replace that stupid trackpad with a rotary dial and literally all their problems would be solved, but in typical Toyota stubbornness they still haven't listened. Hopefully the rumors of the next NX receiving a new system are true.

Agree that this is the only car where the spindle grill is acceptable but from the door backwards the car is ugly IMO.

Put the soft top up and then the car looks really un-proportional

Agree, top needs to be down to be beautiful, although I find most convertibles to be that way. 8 series, SL, S-Class, 4-series, etc. none of them look pretty with the top up.

Sorry, beg to differ
I think both of these convertible tops flow nicely with the lines of the car...

Ok you got me on the AMG GT which I honestly forgot they make a convertible version of (its so hard to keep track of how many different cars Merc makes ), that still looks good, and I think the fact that there's only two windows helps it, the SL however, just not a fan of, however that has more to do with the general design than just the top, I just never liked any of the SL's after the R129, hoping the next R232 and its new platform will change that though.

I agree there is no question the hardtop MB SL series are some great looking cars. Slow by today's standards, but classic beautiful and a decade or two ago, one of the best all around cars in the world.

I'm starting to get tempted. I'm trying to resist. Prospects uncertain.

With the shuddering of the S Class Convertible there is a new 2+2 SL on the way. From the information out there should be a monster.

AMG GT Convertible is gorgeous. Has real presence on the road.

New S - again setting the standard. That's a serious car with an incredible interior and tech

Agree. New S is still the benchmark, controversial but nonetheless more impressive than the 7er and A8.

Curious if they will also axe the GT vert. With the next SL being developed by AMG and sharing a platform with the GT, I would think the SL will take the spot of the vert, with the GT remaining a coupe.

Curious to see what they'll do...

Pretty sure BMW takes the cake here...they got like 3 versions of every damn class...and they got coupes that aren't coupes and sedans that aren't sedans and SUVs that aren't SUVs...doesn't get more confusing that that! lol

I miss the days when all you had to figure out was if the 3 series was a 2D or 4D

The Germans just love finding niche's inside of other niche's. Its so ridiculous and the market buys into it. People now wants their coupes to be sedans (hence 4-door coupes) and their sedans to be SUV (resulting in monstrosities like X6 and other hunchbacks). I definitely agree, miss the simpler days, as well as the badges actually matching the engine size!
