Yeah the evolution of the Benz engines. That Black Series (mine) has the M156 6.2l n/a is arguably the fave of all the Benz engines although I do like the Hot V 4.0 because it was/is so responsive yet still has an amazing bark

And you can tune it for really big power as you can the BMW!

And MB seems more lax on tuning than BMW.

Aside from the SLS the C63 was such a perfect application for that 156. I think that engine represents AMG at it's peak. I have a W212 with performance pack with it and it is still such a fun car. The BS is a forever keeper.

My Ferrari’s are an 812SF and a 458 Spider and when talking about sound and driving experience are in different stratosphere. My Corvettes are classics and I appreciate them for what they are and mean to me.

As far as changing my name, would it be less offensive if I called myself BMWEater? Give me a break. Your suggestion is disrespectful. There is always one...
But really if you are going to compared cars they need to be atleast at the same level.. it was all I was saying ! and thank you on the name calling very classy great way to start on the forum

Second I said that some amg's owners did I said you you put yourself on that boat all by yourself..

Third great about your ferrari's & cortv's, and the comment about changing your username was in a playfull way hence the .... behind the comment but I can see how you took all us this the wrong way

It's all good. Let's just move on and have fun! I did just order a 2021 X7 M50i in Tanzanite blue to replace an aging and dated 2016 QX80 that I'm pretty jazzed about.

You're going to love the Tanzanite Blue on the new X7 M50i. I fell in love with the color for my 2020 M850i Coupe and have gotten nothing but compliments on it from others in parking lots, etc.

I'm glad to hear that! I looked at the sample at the dealer and I wasn't impressed because at the time I was going for a marina bay blue M8 (which started this thread) and the Tanzanite looked more like carbon black. Then we took the samples outside in the sun and that is where you can see the difference. Then I saw this video online and was stunned! I'd like to see pictures/videos of your car.

Did you ever test drive S63 coupe?
That car is superb to drive comparing to M8 and C63, it makes you feel great and satisfied when driving it, different type of car and real luxurious car especially in light leather interior.

I can understand that just looking at the sample in the showroom would tend to draw a comparison with Carbon Black. However, the overall base is a true deep blue with 2 layers of mineral flake on top that absolutely stuns in the sunlight. As luck would have it every time my mobile detailer has cleaned the M850i over the past few months I've never had the chance to take it out to get some updated pics.

That said here are a few older shots that I've posted on various threads, etc. The first one being after the cerium delete program plus PPF and ceramic coating but on an overcast day. The other shots are pre-cerium delete but with full sun and highlight the amazing depth of the paint that absolutely shimmers in the sunlight.

Ironically when the wife and I drove the M850i out to San Diego in June to visit our son whom is a Master Gemologist (certified by GIA) and makes his living appraising diamonds and gemstones at a high-end jewelry store when he saw the car he said "wow that looks just like Tanzanite". Little did he know that was the color according to BMW so I explained that after the fact.

The 2015+ S coupes are awesome cars, solid, well crafted and lot of standard extras not even available on the M850/8's. I owned both a 16 and 17 550, but the S63 (with the 9 speed) are the ones to have, and get em while you can b/c they'll soon be extinct.

Luv the color, but there's just not enough metallic in there...
