I explained my reasoning; short form: stock form is absurdly high. H&R build a quality product and this is my 3rd set of that exact product. Having racked up >30,000 miles on them, why wait. The car wasn't going to lower itself.

Great looking car, congrats Limey Notice any big differences in how the M8 drives in comparison to the M5?

Thanks!

Yes. Definitely some differences. I'll write them up once I'm home.

Hockeytyme drove her for a little while and independently made two of the very same observations I made in the first 5 mins.

Oh yea, that's right. Forgot about to mention that that the stock ride height is a high as my X3MC. At first I thought it was X8MC.

Miko, sense Spring making is your profession.... can you make the same height but softer rate?

So it can take those potholes easier? Roads are super bad here in IL.
Yes I can, I can adjust the rate in % anything you want.
I can go 10,20,30 % stronger or weaker....you name it and I can make it

Cool
Car looks sick man!
I absolutely love it

Planning to tune this beast after break in period?

It would be even more fun with 800HP

She already has a Racechip in her from Ben but I haven't used it yet because she's not had her break in serv... yah, that's utter bollocks: I turned it on about 600 miles ago when I got bored and have been steadily throwing more of it at the car and pushing incrementally as the miles sail by. Once I have the service and then the JB4 simultaneously installed (one piggy in-line at a time), I'll post some objective data and subjective opinions.

Just filed for the trademark of Miko M Springs so I can sit on it and sell it for stupid $ just like the early days in Internet Domain Name squatting.

Obviously just kidding and think you should go for it Miko M and get your product out as I for one appreciate the eye for detail and the passion to supply modders with a quality set of springs!

Yeah, I will get RC from Ben too as soon as I get X6M and I should be able to use the same as your sense engines are the same.

Keep us posted how the beast runs

I can make anything anyone wants

Having the biggest Machine in US up to 25mm wire size.
To be honest I should spend time measuring and I have advanced software plus the best Machine on the market.

Spitting 5000Springs per shift

Perhaps you really should partner with Ben on springs. Seriously, could you make a set for me to test? How would that work if even possible?

I'm not shy when it comes to guinea pig'ging (I think I just invented a new verb).

I can definitely do that, as long as workload erlaubt.

I would need stock Springs to measure Free Length, I.D. Ends, body O.D. Pitch, Rate.
Then enter data into software program and adjust F.L. Without effecting the Rate or even changing if needed for individual taste.

I dropped mine F90 with H&R Springs too and took stock Springs to measure F.L. And they were perfect length which indicates 100% sort to maintain same hight on all 4 corners

Not a bad idea.
I've been wanting to make my own adjustable spring.
But, just haven't been able to justify the cost to make products without a name to back it up.

I just noticed the M8 doesn't have the antenna/fin on the rear part of the roof. Good to see BMW is finally placing that internally and avoiding that bit of an eye sore.

On behalf of limeypride , I am putting together his car's build thread.

1 day old 2020 BMW M8 Competition GranCoupe got treated by me, personally, on a few simple mods to beautify this already gorgeous ride.

Long story short, he has been hitting me up a few weeks prior to delivery. Planning things out on what and how to get things done before driving this gorgeous car to its home, 1000+ miles away. I hope this time this M8C will stay home for much longer time than his M5's.

After a few discussions and deep research into BMW parts catalog, not knowing what may or may not fit on this new platform which no one even ever touch or do any mods. We both came to an agreement that he is willing to be the "Guinea Pig" on the suspension.

So, the day is finally here.
After a sleepless night (got very excited on this build), this morning, I picked up the car and lend him my F97 X3MC to go around town while I am working on his car. Almost 8 hours later after hitting some snags and 2 hours wasted, here are the outcome.

List of mods:
- H&R Sport Spring for G30 M550
- H&R 15/11 Wheel Spacer in Black
- AutoTecknic Paddle Shifter in Gloss Black to match his Carbon Fiber / Piano Black Interior trim
- RaceChip GTS Black
- Coding (Anti-Dazzle, Trunk close via Keyfob, Video in Motion, etc)

Side Note: Original plan was to use some height adjustable spring instead of H&R Spring. But, I found out that it was missing parts in the set that I received. So we decided to take a big gamble on H&R Spring which the result was spectacular.

Without further due, here are the before and after pictures.

Enjoy, feel free to comment or PM for pricing since I can't quote price openly as per forum policy.

Last Side Note: Apology on the iPhone pictures. I hope it is good enough. It will take me months before I can post, if I use DSLR to take the pictures.
