As the OP on this thread, I must say that the BMW metallic paints can really be incredible in the way they change color based on lighting conditions.
I ended up with Nardo Grey and it, too, changes color quite a bit depending on the ambient light. I must say, however, that it has nowhere near the depth of the metallics. I would question why you would be considering putting the Xpel Stealth on one of these colors if you don't like the flat look of Nardo. In my opinion, it somewhat defeats the purpose of the metallic paints. One thing I considered was doing the Stealth film on Alpine White. The white on it's own isn't exciting (had in on my previous M6), but you might be able to get a killer deal on one, then wrap it and have a more unique color. Just a thought! The M8 is awesome and I love them in all colors! Dave |

Thanks for posting these VERY helpful pics and discussion!
These are the 2 colors I have narrowed down for my new 7 Series. That Dravit has way more Green than I expected. That Brands Hatch is stunning! |

My son-in-law has Dravit grey and although it is a nice color, it does kind of fades out at certain angles in the sun. I think the M8 looks the richest in Donington grey. Saw all the colors in sun and clouds and Donington gets my nod.

Okay.... I am sold on Dravit!
It has that "pop" I want! With gloss back/shadow line trim and a sweet set of 22" staggered gloss black wheels on my 7...*drool! If I were in the market for an 8, I'd also go with Dravit.

Grigio Telesto is a real nice color for sure - one of my favorites so much that I wanted to get my former F32 car painted with that color but then decided it wasn't worth it considering the vehicle already had some years and KMs on its back. I really appreciate Dravit and I consider it in my top 3 color choices when I look at THE 8. Actually I have also gotten to like colors on the 8 series (montegi red, donington, bluestone to name a few) that I would have not imagine I could ever like when compared to the more classic ones. |

There are two Dravit Grey and 1 Brands Hatch Metallic M8s in these photos.
Dravit has a very gold tone in sunlight. It looks almost brown in sunlight, etc. Brands Hatch has very little gold flake and stays much more gray in sunlight. It might be a less interesting color for that regard, but I prefer BH by a good margin (but I hate gold/brown colors). Brands Hatch can look very dark gray in shadows, (more so than Dravit by a bit) and lighter gray in sunlight. |
