Tanzanite blue and black wheels?

Two of my wheels need a refurb, and given the cost of diamond cutting vs. just getting them done gloss black is over £200…

I do actually quite like the idea of gloss black though, and my car has the black grille and exhausts, so it might actually really suit the wheels in black.

Anyone got a GC in Tanzanite with black wheels they could share pics of? Any other opinions of the diamond cut finish vs. gloss black?

The best part is after 50 miles of driving on the MSport brakes the gloss black wheels begin to turn matte black. No extra cost for the color change. Lol

I learned that lesson the hard way with my 2003 G35. I'd come from a bunch of Honda Civics with big huge tires and there was no such think as curbing the wheels (they were actually plastic hub cabs I think). It was a harsh reality when you get your first low profile tire car. . My wheels have been scratch free ever since.

Have basically the same set up albeit a coupe. I can see that black rims work well but for now I'm keeping the bi-color cerium/black as they too work well with the Tanzanite and full Shadow line. Then again if I curb rash the crap out of one of the rims I indeed may go black.

I am not a fan of black wheels, although my winter set is gloss black (purchased out of desperation). My car is white, they've grown on me but I still desire to have the OEM 20's back on the car more so.

I will say, tanzanite and gloss black wheels looks killer. The gloss black wheels look better than the OEM's IMHO

PS, what's a diamond cut finish?

fmzip Diamond cutting is done on a lathe using a diamond tipped blade - it shaves a very thin bit of metal from the wheel and leaves that textured finish and bi-colour effect, then the lacquer is applied to the bare metal to preserve the finish.

Slightly different inquiry…I will be taking delivery of Frozen Tanzanite Blue M8 with gloss black wheels soon; and I am considering powdercoating to satin black. Would you powdercoat to satin black or stay with gloss black? Any input will be very much appreciated. 👍🤘😊
