I'm thinking of going with the same tips I have on the car without writing on them or this style, which do you guys think would look better. Definitely need less poke as well.....

Yes, super easy to swap them, the under panel is held on with a few screws and nuts.
I've been wrenching on my cars for the past 40 years, pulled engines transmissions etc. Tackled some crazy stuff like gutting the interior on my E46. My wife thought I was insane but I wanted to two tone my interior, it was once all gray... Last edited by fmzip; 12-12-2022 at 08:27 PM.. |

In speaking with Hendrik at BaanVelgen you can get a of carbon fiber tips in combination with an exhaust from EIsenmann. I’ve attached the model and tailpipes. Between this exhaust, tips, front, side and rear diffuser in CF it would be an amazing upgrade to the M850i.
Here is the exhaust and tips. I don’t have the pricing yet on those. Their CF though does seem more expensive than just buying it from BMW parts but they won’t do the exhaust and tips installation. I’m looking to install the front lips, side and rear diffuser with CF tips. Will provide photos when it’s done. |

Thanks. I am trying to better understand if this changes emissions at all as I don’t want to get something installed and then have issues later. Fairly new to after market modifications.

Read the whole thread and something elsewhere too and like everyone else on M850s want the quad tips look.
From what I understand easiest way is to remove the metal trim that sits in the slots of the stock diffusers. Then some welding and cutting quad tips in sizing 3.5" fit in that slot correct? To remove that trip, does the diffuser need to come out or can be done when on the lift with just unscrewing some screws? Doesn't sound like any bumper/diffuser parts need to be removed off the car to make this happen correct? Someone above mentioned 'the space is too narrow and bumps and stuff would make it hit the diffuser and crack it', etc., is that an issue at all? I have the stock carbon diffuser from the factor that came with the carbon package if that matters. Thanks everyone. |

Yeah that’s what it sounded like originally, but then fmzip advised to purchase the trim that came with the cf package. I too already have that on mine, so I was wondering if it was just a matter of buying and welding the tips |

You also need to cut the old tips off and weld in new piping Last edited by fmzip; 03-10-2023 at 07:57 AM.. |
