Question help for bmw m8 coupe winter tire

I am a new m8 owner and have a question about winter tire. The tire dealer gave me the option of continental ts860 on the front(275/35/20) and ts830 on the rear(285/35/20). I asked them about the mixed tire. They said ts860 and ts830 has the same pattern so there is no problem. Anybody know if it is true? Does is work like that?

It comes down to the actual size of the tire. You want the rotational difference to be less than 1%. So if both rolling diameters are the same it won't matter, but if one is 1" larger than the other then no go.... I'm sure some one can bring in a bit more details than that but I've lived by that rule and its worked so far. Width has no impact unless you are going on a major difference. 285 up front and 295-305 in the rear won't do anything.

I'm not sure if I would see that as an issue since the tires are similar. I would say no if you wanted to put those mixed with a PS4 but I've not ever heard of tread difference effecting more than irregular tire wear. But you also said they told you they are the same just must be different compound?

Because ts860 don't have size in 285 and ts830 dont have size in 275. i am thinking of getting all four for ts860 in size 275 so that the tire model is the same.

But I asked my BMW sales about it, he said not ok to do that because something about viechel's weight distribution.(Because my original tire is front 275 rear 285) But the tire dealer says I can go with all four 275. Don't know who I should trust...

I found out they actually have some difference in tire tread pattern. So now I am thinking of doing all four for ts860 in size 275. Don't know if it is ok to do that.
