First time poster. First BMW as well. I have been a Porsche and Benz guy but the 2024 G16 M850i is so much bang for the buck. Going to document my order progress. That being said I cant track it on BMW my garage or BMW Genius. My order is a BMW Military program order with euro delivery so I have to rely on my dealer for updates. Hope this helps any questions about delays and such currently, based on my research a few of the options I chose should delay my order but according to the dealer here in Italy all is going as planned.

153 means your car is on the assembly line. Could be complete same day or next day. Sometimes cars can get held up in quality check which can delay the transition to status 155 (production complete). Status 160 means it's waiting in line for a train to the port of exit. 190 means it's actually moving to the port of exit. Transit from the factory to the port of exit can be as short as 1-2 days or I've seen it take 2 weeks for some cars.

Clayton tracking all was more wondering timeline between. No port for me, she will be getting on a truck and bought down to Italy for delivery but according to my dealer this still takes at least 2 weeks. Apparently BMW AG has to sell the car to BMW Italy and as this will be tax free for me, it’s a shit ton of paper work. I expect to take delivery beginning to middle of March. Once it arrives in Verona Italy, BMW Italy takes about 2 weeks to produce an invoice, nothing happens fast in Italy.

155 26 January and as of yesterday is still in quality control.

I wouldn’t mind that 😅 I will be out of country end of February and had a bad feeling it was going to show up and the Italians were going to start demanding payment and then having to deal with all that via the phone instead of in person at the bank. I can’t pay the balance until BMW Italy has the car in their possession so they can produce an invoice🤷*♂️
I am super excited though, last new car I built from the factory was after getting back from Iraq in 06. Ordered on of the last Acura RSX Type S before it was discontinued. Still miss that car 😅

1/30/24 status 181: handover to distribution

Guess you got lucky. I went in the other day and my dealer guy said they weren't accepting anymore orders on 24s and had to do a 25 w production starting in March. So I had to settle w one of my backup colors on a car already available in a different state.

When do you try and place an order? I placed my order on 30 November 2023😅 From what I understand the US Spec BMW Military program cars being delivered in Europe get high priority, I placed order on 30 November and it was accepted and given production number same day. I had wanted to wait till January, but the 10 percent off the MSRP was going away 1 January so I pulled the trigger.

Car is still in 183 status. This is the message I got from dealer:
Your car is still in Germany awaiting shipment to Italy. We are being told there is a shortage of trucks. Hopefully we get some traction next week.

I went to my local BMW dealer and the build time for UK specs for a 850 is now 9 months due to some chassis issues- no idea if true or not. No wonder they're willing to drop £15k of the price list.

Apparently the 840xd are on like 4-6 months.

I placed my order November 2023. I am scheduled to take delivery this coming Thursday the 11th. So it took about 5.5 months from order placed to delivery. The car was built by the end of January. It took two months to get it trucked to Italy. Apparently there is a shortage of drivers?
I will post some pictures after I take delivery.
