Do the pre-LCI grilles fit the new models?

I’m not fond of the matte black finish on the new shadowline package.

I checked a few aftermarket grille options to see if they distinguished between pre-LCI and LCI—sadly, they do. From that, it’s reasonable to infer that the OEM equivs between pre-LCI and LCI aren’t interchangeable. 😒

You could always spray it or wrap it. I did this to my M5 and something similar to my current M8’s:

Wrapping the outer in gloss black is your best & cheapest option for sure.

I'm not a big fan of the plastic look on my lci M850 but not sure how a grill swap or wrap will play with the grill lights on the lci. Then again I'm not sure I'm a fan of the grill lights.

Does anyone have any ideas of cost to either fit a new or wrap the existing grille?
I'm due to pick my new car up soon, but not 100% convinced of the silver grille...

Ditch the silver aka cerium grill for Shadowline but it sounds like you may have ordered including it. Did you order or is it a spec build off the dealers lot? Either way I'd ask for the Shadowline grill via total customer satisfaction. It's a $300 option including the M Shadowline lights but no biggy to forgo them as the heavier lift for the dealer.

My dealer eradicated the Cerium on my second build (first one was DOA due to the 2020 MY ZDX debacle). They made a customer for life in doing so and just took advantage of that to get ~9% off on the wife's unexpected 2024 X5 40i (Progressive deemed her 2017 X5 35i totalled after an accident). To give me a price I requested on the 40i they matched BMW FS' loyalty but actually trippled it ($4500) and then cut another $2K off as I was willing to put $57K down.

My story on the Cerium eradication program. Ask your dealer as they can do the same in order to deliver true customer satisfaction and the holly grail of a future purchase.
